Well, I don't know about the rest of you guys but in the Ukraine it is an obvious battle of good vs evil .....

..... while in Canada it is a battle of lunacy vs the common good.

The Ukrainian heroes of freedom vs the fringe Canadian lunatics of white privilege.

A stark contrast in bravery.

On a related side note:

Convoy organizer/instigator and grifter Pat King's lawyer argued that his client should be released on bail because grifter Pat was alarmed and distraught that he would become infected with covid if he was detained in jail!

Yes, you heard that right.

I agree Russia is the aggressor here
Unpacking sense and assigning absolute blame for all the atrocities that have occurred in this region over history is impossible

I agree it is the lunacy of Justin Trudeau thinking he gets to choose who has a right to protest which is counter to the common good

You speak of the common good and then you make a damn fool devise statement like that

All Canadians have a right to peacefully protest independent of skin color or any other divisive issue you think you can use to virtue signal

The Canadian Constitution Foundation has launched a legal challenge based on the facts of the matter
Trudeau revokes emergency, but now must answer in court! - YouTube
The legal challenge will focus on the facts that
The implementation of the Emergencies Act
1. Did not meet the standards of an emergency as defined in the act- not even close (what a fool Trudeau is)
2. Violated the Charter of Rights and Freedoms

When the Canadian Constitution Foundation win , the civil lawsuits will start for the 200 illegally detained and those who's accounts were frozen, property seized

Fortunately neither the emergencies act or the Charter of Rights and Freedoms contain any ridiculous divisive provision for "white privilege"

BTW the accounts are still frozen

I bet that partially satisfies your vindictive and divisive agenda

Recall these words
"A Canadian is a Canadian, is a Canadian"

It was not
"A Canadian is a Canadian, is a Canadian", expect when thety disagree with Justin Trudeau... or if they are "white"

Well, think of it this way: if the Freedom Convoy had have been rolling through Ottawa in armored vehicles, wielding machine guns, Trudeau would have actually been justified in implementing the Wartime Act! lol

"First they came to take away our hot tub in the middle of the street and everyone laughed at us. Then they came to take away our bouncy castles and everyone laughed at us more joyously. Then they came for bbqs and everyone still laughed. And when they came to take away our pickups and big rigs there was no one left for everyone to laugh at anymore."

Good riddance!

For those of you who actually want to follow things without the extra hyperbole.
The filing is there.

Note that they want it joined to the CCLA filing, which can be found here. ( Emergencies-Act-NOA.pdf (ccla.org) )

The CCLA, of course, is considering whether or not to go forward since Trudeau dropped the Emergency powers. (The CCF filed late.)

Not sure if either will go anywhere given that, although they both are asking to look at the economic measures, which may matter depending on what actually goes down with frozen accounts and property seized.

Yes, you heard that right.
What covid? Omicron is mild natural immunity by natural infection. What a wimp.

The Canadian Constitution Foundation was quite clear about the importance of following through with the legal challenge despite Justin's 24 hour flip flop on the emergencies act

BTW the accounts are still frozen ,without a court order
I have not heard if all / any of the 200 have been released from their unlawful arrest
If not their rights are still being violated

He may have dropped the Emergencies act, however there is no do overs on violating its standards or Charter of Rights and Freedoms violations

What was really interesting was listening to the legal beagle's description of the standards required to enact the Emergencies Act

They standards are very high and all other possible avenues of addressing the perceived problem need to have been exhausted.
Justin publicly stated he refused to meet with the truckers representatives-- What an idiot !

His arrogance, exceptionally poor judgement and woke prejudices may wind up being decisive in the court ruling

Then the civil suits will start

Yeah I do not think the Charter of Freedoms and Rights has a "Good riddance!' clause

Yes, but if they had filed when it was still active, they wouldn't have to argue about why they didn't bother to file when it mattered.
The simple fact is that the CCLA looks more serious here and the CCF even acknowledges this by asking that their filing be joined to the CCLA's.
(That may be an issue if the CCLA doesn't move forward although it looks like it will.)

BTW the accounts are still frozen ,without a court order
Which, since they want those measures lifted, would be a reason for a court to look at this and not dismiss it.
Assuming of course, that all the accounts are still frozen and not just specific accounts that may have ended up with further investigation or be involved in other legal action that explains why they are frozen.

I have not heard if all / any of the 200 have been released from their unlawful arrest
If not their rights are still being violated
You would have to prove the arrests were unlawful.
Unless they were arrested under powers or charges not normally present, that's going to be a high bar arguing that it needs special redress other than the usual "the arrest was bogus and that person isn't guilty".
Are they being kept without speedy trial or access to counsel?

He may have dropped the Emergencies act, however there is no do overs on violating its standards or Charter of Rights and Freedoms violations
Which this filing doesn't address.

His arrogance, exceptionally poor judgement and woke prejudices may wind up being decisive in the court ruling
His behavior in getting to the decision may indeed.
Given how emotionally invested you are, though, you might not be looking at their actual chances clearly.
