Ya I gotta ask to - there are questions here not answered in the article. I think one thing that is there that hurt her was she called other people to the house before she called 911. Never do that!

Not to say there isn’t one or what she said is true or not but there would have to be evidence that he was trying to rape her as well as evidence that the only thing she could do was kill him. She could have slashed at him and ran for example.

Also - there are non-lethal forms for protection that all sex workers should use. That knife could have easily been used to kill her instead. Never bring a weapon that someone else can use. And it prevents deaths like this. Assault and run is the name of our game. Not stand and fight to the death.
We don’t have the same laws here in Canada regarding self defence like they do in the US. If someone breaks into your home, you scare them by coming home and they start to run and you block their way to detain and end up harming them, you are at fault. I see this as no different.
I feel for sex workers and I feel for this woman but law is law and I don’t personally just on the bandwagon of because I’m a sex worker, I have to support all sex workers the same.
