Ford said fines for non-compliance will be severe, with a maximum penalty of $100,000 and up to a year of jail time.

Additional authority is also being considered to take away the personal and commercial licences of anyone who does not comply with the orders, Ford said.

The measures are temporary, Ford added.

However, Ford said "we have every intention to bring new legislation forward that will make these measures permanent in law."

"This will not impede the rights of Ontarians to peacefully protest. It will provide additional tools to help stop the illegal occupation of Ottawa and the Ambassador Bridge in Windsor," he said.

" Yesterday, the Ford government said it had successfully petitioned a court to freeze access to millions of dollars donated through GiveSendGo for the protests. "

Did anyone freeze donations to BLM when cities were being set on Fire during their protests?
Did anyone even think to do so?
Curious.

I am very disappointed in Justin not sending in the military!!!!!

Conservatives and protesters are blaming Trudeau for everything else Ford has done… why not blame him for this too… 🤷‍♂️

Canadian charter of rights and freedoms:

Section 2 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees the freedom of expression, freedom of association, and the freedom of peaceful assembly. Protests are a way for people to express themselves for or against decisions made by government or other powerful institutions

Too bad, but they were naive enough to believe the backers/organizers were on the side of the working people.

Blocking International boarder crossings is no longer a peaceful protest. It damages our economy and hurts the pocket book of other truckers… who got up and went to work this morning. Those are the truckers I support.

The abortion protesters standing outside the Hospital in the falls every Sat afternoon are peaceful. They hold their signs, and walk the sidewalk.
