Mandates are the decision of health, not political.
Even Dougie has to wait for his committee to tell him when he can open things up again.

The protesters will just have to sit and watch it open as hospital numbers fall.
I think you are wrong its a political decision to get medical opinion backup. Or are you saying Dr Tam is running this country now or is Trudeau just hiding behind behind her skirt. And by the way Ford has given timelines for lifting a lot restrictions in Feb and March.

Sure, politicians can act against the opinions of their medical experts.
But its not popular.
Why listen to a tiny fringe and not listen to the truckers associations, their union and medical experts?
Even Dougie won't listen to his own daugther.

You gonna listen to a bunch of unemployed whiners who took covid and foreign money to honk and shit in Ottawa and demand the government resign or maybe to the people taking care of these idiots when they get sick?

The feckless jerk crippled the nation for 2 years but now it's a problem because his wealthy friends in Ottawa can't drive around town as easily. That's just a tiny fraction of what business owners felt when having to close up shop after years of struggle, investment, and effort.
Is their feelings more important than the feelings of the relatives of the about the 2,000 people in hospital and the 66 people dead last month in Ontario alone.

We can never save everyone. Even with the most stringent restrictions

I like how all the "doctors and scientists" protesting across the country and on this board, suggest that there should never have been any restrictions or shutdowns. Yeah, that would've gone well.

Mandates and restrictions are being lifted. As it is now, there really isn't much you can't do, other than attend a sporting event or concert. When the last lockdown was put in place, they had no idea how quickly the hospitals could've become overwhelmed. If you remember, we didn't have a single case of Omicron until the beginning of December.

I get it, I'm tired of all this. I want it to end. But I also have many friends in healthcare who are literally worn out. And that's with all the vaccinations and mandates. They tell me they couldn't imagine how bad things would've been had we let our guard down too early.

These protesters don't have a freakin' clue as to how things really work. They're just a bunch of Neanderthals. Can't wait until they go back to their caves.

No, because there comes a point where the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.

And with Omicron being milder and we're now at 2 years of mandates, I think we've reached that point
2,000 covid patients in hospital in Ontario alone.

I think we will be there in less than a month. I can wait that long, although I really want to travel to the beach.

I was listening to talk radio on my way home today and the majority of the people calling in want Trudeau to at least have a dialogue with the truckers, and set definitve dates as to when things can go back to normal (like in Europe right now).

But Trudeau wont because it will look like he caved and that hurts his pride and ego
