Perhaps if the protesters had approached in a slightly more civilized manner, the government reponse may have been more engaging. But having 1000's of signs saying "F*ck Trudeau" is not exactly a plea for dialogue.
Well, they did not appear in Ottawa from out of space - they drove here for a few days. Plenty of time to engage in dialogue. And how about similar protests in the past (e.g., against quarantine hotel)? All of them were dismissed. So, it seems, the protest have to become "uncivilized" for the government to actually listen to people.
I am sorry, I may not be too familiar with Canadian history, but what exactly Terry Fox SACRIFICED?

The organizers have a racist history and have advocated for Trudeau’s overthrow and some distant affiliation with calls for his execution. So they’re out.
Not to mention they are not connected to the trucking industry so even if he did agree to hear them out, they have no real idea how any of this affects truckers and cannot provide any alternative compromise solution

I am serious, I have yet to hear any protest supporters nominate a legitimate spokesperson who he should have dialogue with.
whether anyone likes it or not, he’s leader of a major country and as such is too busy to go there and host a Q&A. If he simply gives a supportive speech, that’s not 2-way dialogue.
There is no legitimate representation of the truckers and that is what I and many others have pointed out so many times. That is the fault of the protester side, not our Prime Minister

I like this one. Too busy to showcase his socks? He is PM, and it is his job to talk to the citizens. And it is his job to figure out how to start the dialogue. People are angry for a reason and this reason and he knows what the reason is. No he needs to figure ut what to do, not just ignore the protest or even worse, use the force. He is Canadian leader, not a leader of Russia.
