I think the Freedom Convoy may have already accomplished something…

Yuh. If a woman gets an abortion, it's contagious and she gives abortion-itis to every other woman she comes into contact with.

You missed the point. Consider everything including the effect of the unvaccinated spreading the virus (which you pointed out to), the effect they have because the unvaccinated take more beds in hospitals, and even if you want to argue they prolong the pandemic (which I don’t agree with, but let’s even assume that too). With all those together, if you were to somehow translate that to the number of life losses per unvaccinated person, it’ll be much less than 1. On the other hand, for each abortion, 1 life is lost.

To be clear, I’m prochoice both for vaccination and abortion. This argument isn’t made to say something negative about abortion.

Ps. The vaccines certainly help a lot in preventing covid hospitalization. But are fully vaccinated people (with 2 doses) much less likely to get Omicron or spread it? You might want to look at recent data.

Since the viral load is exactly the same with the vaccinated and unvaccinated the transmissibility is the same as well.

They always seem to skip over that little point.....

Until you include the link from your claimed newspaper, this is fake news.

"Meanwhile, not far down the street, the statue of Terry Fox, whose run across Canada and death halfway to the finish in 1981 produced multi-millions for cancer research, was strapped in with an upside-down Canadian flag on a pole, littered with hand-made cardboard placards, a swastika and wearing a ball cap that was ridiculously undersized."

Any other clever retorts?

Well then you must have a lot of experience driving 18 hours through nasty weather and amongst shitty drivers only to arrive to find the loading dock is backed up for 3 hours you will not get paid for
Truck drivers do not drive for 18 hours straight. That would be illegal and dangerous.

do you not BLM had the right to peacefully protest?
I do and really wish their protest had been peaceful like the truckers protest
Convoy supporters tried to ram RCMP officers at the border in Coutts.

1) I asked for the link because when I said CBC has suggested that Russia was somehow behind the Convoy, someone called it fakenews unless the link is posted, and you liked his post. So I was holding you to your own standards. I have posted the video with the CBC allegation btw, see post #143. But you are probably not interested in actually watching and forming your own opinion.

2) The article you have posted is just an opinion piece published by the Sun (it clearly says so on the top of the page right next to the title). You might not know the difference, but an opinion piece isn’t the same as a news article. Putin or the Iranian foreign minister can write an opinion piece in New York Times. That doesn’t make the content of their opinion piece facts. (Not saying that the content of your article is necessarily false, but you shouldn’t blindly trust an opinion piece.)

Terry Fox looks just fine to me........Where is all this vandalism that the fake news media was spreading.........

Not sure “Vandalized” was the word used… I think it was “Desecrated”.

I assume you're referring to bverhunter post 145, what I liked was his pointing out the orgazizers history of white nationalism and racism. I didn't click like for anything about fake news.... unless it's a different post, I really don't know which you are referring to.

I do know the difference between an opinion piece and a news article, but unless you're suggesting the Sun doesn't hold it's columnists to editorial standards, then they wouldn't allow one to state something that isn't verefied. There's a difference between an opinion "I think someone will put a swastika on the Terry Fox statue" versus "a swastika was put on the statue".
Guest columns and Toronto Sun columnists are different and even guest columns are held to some standards and the media outlet would add a disclaimer that they do not necessarily share the views of the guest columnist. There is no such disclaimer on this piece. It's one of their own staff writing it.

Show me pictures of this supposed desecration then........

Oh and by the way I don't consider the Canadian flag to be desecration in any way.

Here's some real life desecration for you to use as a measure'

I watched the link, it says nothing of what you claim. The hosts asks if some of the $6 million in mostly anonymous donations could have come from Russia as a disinformation campaign. She doesn't say it happened. Its a fair question and one that should be considered.

That's what journalism is supposed to do.
