A three topping large pizza from Pizza Nova cost me $20.55 the other night.
I went back and looked at what I used to pay for the same pizza.
April 2019 - $15.80
Dec 2020 - $17.82 (12.8% increase over 20 months)
Jan 2022 - $20.55 (15.3%!! increase over13 months)
So that's a combined 28.1% increase over 33 months. And they have the gall to tell us our inflation rate was only hovering around 2% since before the pandemic and that its about 5% presently. Complete and utter bullshit!
Order from pizza pizza, they have cheap pizza

large pizza is just 12 bucks

Here
I eat almost exclusively at home, I make home made sauce in the fall, buy things on sale, I also shop in China town or a local Asian market because the produce is half the price. I shop at no frills for staples. I eat a lot of legumes and rice as a filler. My grocery bill is a little under $ 100 a week.

Eggs are about $0.30 each. So 6 a day is pretty good protein, for $1.80. Pork can be had quite cheaply, as well as chicken.
Get Pork from an Asian grocery store, buy the neck bones and slow cook it with cabbage.

Potatoes are generally cheap. Butter, Bread, then frozen mixed vegies.

Costco wild Alaskan salmon.

There is no way you need to spend $600/month on food.

If you want healthy eat organ meats - NOT organic - organ meats - liver, heart, tripe, kidneys, etc.

I like going to Farmboy and Vince’s plus the regular places like No Frills, Loblaws, and Supercentre since in my area they are not far from each other. Plus Supercentre does price matching which is great. But lately I have been ordering through Wagjag as their grocery prices are pretty good and I like the quality.

I try to stick to what is in season. For vegetables, cabbage, parsnips, and leeks are in season right now - you can make yummy soups! 🙂
Leeks and parsnips are delicious. Potato leek soup is one of my favorites. I'm going to make a batch this weekend. Thanks for the inspiration MissCroft.

Cabbagetown
That old woman wouldn't dare try that in Texas.

People who shoplift have often spent time in jail or prison. Most of the people who go to jail or prison have one thing in common - they act without regard to the consequences of their actions, either once, or on a regular basis.

Only a fool makes a beef with someone who doesn't mind going back to jail. I live in Cabbagetown, and I frequently interact with people who have spent time in jail or prison. I have 'friendly acquaintance' relationship status with most of them. The others I avoid. I'm well enough known in my 'hood that I can walk through the Sherbourne/ Dundas East area at 3:00 AM in the summertime with no risk whatsoever.

Informing the Walmart staff of the theft in progress is one thing, but she crossed the line into 'cowboy territory' when she pulled the guy's balaclava off. She might live to regret having done that, or not.
