t’s weird how much CEOs are idolized and paid in Canadian society for how little value they actually add to a company compared to the people doing all the technical work.
Really how hard is it to crunch numbers and layoff low income workers just to appease the share holders and then get a nice bonus even if the company loses money or goes to shit.

Postal worker.......then and now.

When I was younger the postal workers were on strike every 18-24 months. A few years ago when mail was dwindling they wanted to give postal workers vans so they can deliver packages too so they can keep busy. They balked, not realizing that they are in the twenty first century and their bargaining powers have shriveled. The had to give in and deliver the packages and do the full 8 hours they are paid. In days gone by they would do their route and go home. Some even stock piles their mail for a day or two and delivered twice a week.

Disagree with athletes.

Sure pro athlete can make a lot. But the league is not going broke payimg them.

The revenue a Steph Curry generates is massive.

Furthermore, the number of people who can perform at that elite level is tiny.
It's no different than actors or musicians. The players are the product and the owners need them. It's so satisfying seeing these billionaires crumble to the demands of the players.

I hardly call it crumbling. People who own record labels and film studios are not hurting for cash.

I know but neither is Jeff Bezos and he doesn't pay his employees near what those in the athletics and entertainment industry do. I'm sure if they could pay pro athletes and musicians minimum wage they would.

If the workers are so smart then why dont they start their own company and cut the CEO out and make all the profit for their own hard work.?

The truth is that they're too dumb to do so. They get paid so little because they're told how to do a simple task and they repeat it over and over again without any thought.

The CEO on the other hand makes so much because he is responsible for overseeing the entire operation, making decisions on a daily basis that can make or break the entire company.

The simple minded people working in the warehouse will never understand this

Our current Prime Minister and his mahoosive cabinet with no real world experience of their portfolios.
I don't think the PM is over paid. In fact, I think the position should be better paid to attract better people.

Now Justin is a different story. I think he's incompetent and should not be PM but that's a different story. The Canadian people elected him. That says more about them and less about him

Professors of all disciplines or just gender studies?
All the grievance studies.

Problem is, most of the tuition from those programs free flows into the STEM field where the $ is needed. Then after 4 yrs of milking a student they “graduate” then into an unemployable world with no applicable skill set.

Then, repeat.

Jimmy..it does say alot about us......it says that ya we know what JT is, but lightweights like Otoole and the other guy, so insignificant i cant even think of his name at the moment lol.. and the majority of Canadians are in no mood to elect alot of social conservatives......i know that Harper was that, but his opposition was so pitifully bad it was laughable.....i would say that Canadians like astute politicians and reject those .who are,nt

The CEO is usually the largest, or one of the largest, stockholders in the company. The salary they receive is often based on company profits.

Most real estate agents don't do very well and are at or below the poverty line. They may get a few listings a year and lease nice vehicles for show. The 5% is almaost always split between agents, then split again with their agency. A minority do quite well. Selling your own home isn't easy, mostly low ball offers. I don't like agents either but they also deal with homeowners who think their house is worth 100k more than it is and will sit on the market for months.

The agent I used has been in it for years and her and her husband share a run down mini van. Having access to the mls is an asset and usually the 5% can be made up by the agent. I recently sold my house for 130k over asking to some physio guy from Toronto(not in Tronna), wouldn't have gotten it without mls. I don't have an issue with the 5% anymore.
thats true, also as buyers if it is not on the mls and being sold privately the buyers put an offer in taking off the commision , so it works out the same for the sellar might as well have it listed and use a real estate agent
