Can be considered attempted homicide....
Professional boxers do not have to register their hands as lethal weapons. There isn't any governing body or law that requires it. But the hands of a boxer could be considered a deadly weapon in a court of law if they are used to inflict serious harm
I don't know what the law is in Mexico and Canada, but I happen to know that in Denmark a boxers fists are considered a deadly weapon, even on registered amateur boxers.
They throw the book at boxers who gets into fights outside of the ring.

I'm pretty sure the stalker in Vancouver is a totally different person
i could be wrong but if it was a completely different guy than there would be no relevance to include that in the article about this girl who was assaulted in mexico. I am 80 % sure it is the same guy.

He has to have "intended to kill" her. You can have a deadly assault rifle, but if you just slug someone in the gut with the butt, it's assault, not attempted murder.

intent to kill yes, it would be attempted murder....attempted homicide i would say, beating someone and left them lifeless, hospitalized and fight for her life....

Its a totally different guy. She just seems to have bad luck with men I guess.
The incident in Vancouver happened 8 months ago. If you look at the video carefully you'll see its a white guy.
The boxer who hit her in Mexico is a black guy who lives in Toronto.

Max 10 years in Canada.
No such crime.

Aggravated assault, s. 268 Criminal Code. Maximum = 14 years.

s267 is close

So, one count of assault and one count of aggravated assault. Should put him away for a while.

I really think pepper spray should be legal for women in Canada
unfortunately you have to live in a rural area to have pepper spray. I once had a client gift me pepper spray ; unfortunately i did not keep it because i was too scared about the laws in cities about having pepper spray .

A legal substitute you can carry with you would be a small can of deodorant spray or hairspray.

You are allowed to carry dog spray in the GTA.
Its not quite as strong as pepper spray, but still very, very effective!

You are all assuming that he threw the first punch.
Until we get the details there is no point in deciding what the charges will be.

Unfortunately, he'll probably do okay in prison. No one will fuck with him, incl the warders.
or he'll get stabbed on his second day there and die in a prison hospital a day later. Who really knows?
