Should I be using a burner phone when contacting SPs?

The current prostitution laws in Canada are a response to the Supreme Court Decision to strike down the existing laws at the time in the case: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canada_(AG)_v_Bedford . Unfortunately, in 2014, the Conservatives were in power so they had to come up with a law to please their moron bible thumping supporters who think that if you make something illegal it won't happen! Therefore, the Cons basically ripped off the nordic laws from Scandinavia and made it the new law here.

The bottom line is that the new law doesn't really make any sense and the cops don't have the resources or the inclination to deal with it. The only risk of getting yourself busted is if you deal with street level prostitutes (which most likely doesn't involve texting) where the cops will sometimes enforce the law if they have received complaints from people living in the areas where the street level stuff happens. So stay away from that, which you should do anyways, and you're probably going to be fine.

The only exception to this is if the provider you messaged were the victim of some serious crime. For instance, if she disappeared or were murdered, then the cops would go through her phone and contact you to get information or rule you out as a suspect in regards to dealing with the case. If the police did this, they wouldn't be looking to bust you for a prostitution related offence, they would simply be trying to solve the serious case they are dealing with.

Personal experience: I used my regular cell phone to contact a SP who lived out of town, a couple of hours away. Because she was not on a regular schedule, she had the habit of calling her clients while she was on her way.

I had asked her not to call me, she complied and said she put a * next to my number. No use, she kept calling. I had to block her.

Funny anecdote: Before I blocked her numbers (because she used 2 phones) she called while I was in the car with my SO. I was driving and I saw her number pop up on the dashboard display. I quickly cut the call with the steering wheel button but the inevitable question: "what was that?" I got away by saying that I recognized that robocall number, bla bla...

I used text app from then on, no exception!

No shit, when I saw that number pop up, my ass got so tight I could have cut a cigar!

I had contacted a number on Backpages when that was around. Just a simple inquiry about rates and services, just like many others I've contacted before. This girl had a bad reputation on this board at that time, but mainly about mechanical services and restrictiveness, but I hadn't checked her thread here at the time, or I had forgotten about her thread, or something like that. So during the call, I asked her about whether some service was available, and she snapped at me! After getting off the phone with her, I left a warning in her thread about her bad behavior on the phone.

A few hours later, I got a phone call back from her! Apparently one of her regulars or one of her friends saw the new negative entry in the thread, and she figured out it must've been me, since it happened so recently. I declined the call, and she kept calling every minute for over two hours! Then she got tired and then waited to call again next day, had to keep declining her call. She'd keep repeating this every few days for several redials at a time. The girl obviously had more time on her hands than customers to service. Eventually it stopped, and she changed her number. As I understood it, the word on the street is that she was a full lesbian, not even bi, not interested in guys at all, but yet she was doing massage on men. People should stay within their own lanes, and if going outside your lane makes you this miserable, then you really need to stop doing it completely.

I mainly stick to my regulars these days, so I give them my real phone number, I can trust them. And if I go for something new, I try girls at the spas, you don't have to contact them ever again, if you didn't get along.

I can only speak to my experience. Yes to text app. Do not use your real number.

Some providers do not accept numbers from text app then just MOVE ON. Our privacy and safety are equally important.

Text app is safe and best. Have been using it fir many years for free. We could get calls from some unknown number sometimes, which these days they leave voice msg of 2 seconds.. I keep blocking those number and moves on..

I recommend getting a text app! For privacy/protecting personal info if you’re not comfortable sharing it, as well as maybe discretionary purposes if someone you know were to accidentally see a text to your regular number, maybe turn off the notifications

What for? Just hide the app in amongst all of your apps and don't put it on the main screen. A little less convenient, but much easier to hide.

I just log in when I need it and log out when I'm done. And I bury a shortcut to the app in a folder. If asked, I'd just say I downloaded it to try but hadn't yet.

And all operate at the Sandman, so my gut is telling me this is a cop sting, or maybe human trafficking, but I don't think that is the case. The pictures all look like they could be taken off the internet, and are all unverified. And when you ask for a selfie, if you get one, its a canned photo. Buyer beware. There are twins, a midget, and other pretty beautiful ladies, all ads created yesterday with no ad history.

so by the first six numbers a provider could figure out which text app you’re using.

One thing to keep in mind, if a person stops using their free number after a week or so, the company simply cancels your number and you got to get a new one.

An issue can easily arise where you get a new burner number in 613, you send a message to a local girl, and if anyone previously messaged that girl from that number & she never deletes her messages, then she might think you are the previous hobbyist. Short answer: yes. Buy a 2nd SIM card at PetroCanada ($10) and just swap it with the regular SIM card in your phone when you want to hire some entertainment. Cheap solution.
