Super talented family the DeBarges. This was one of their signature tracks.

The piano sample is infamous for the remix of One More Chance by rapper Notorious B.I.G.

Fred Astaire learned to tap dance from Mr Bojangles. If far as I know there is no video of them dancing.

Gene Kelly was more abrasive, he wasn't going to take no for an answer on having the Nicholas Bros in The Pirate.

Dorothy Dandridge was still a teenager when she sang the Chattanooga Choo Choo. Is it a Duke Ellington song?

Halle Berry played her in a biopic, it was ok. Her range is too limited for such a complex character.

Wow. Brings back many great memories. Saw Rompin Ronnie Hawkins at the old Crang Plaza, Keele & Wilson, singing Hey Bo Diddley, in 1957. Man am I old.
Crang Plaza was the same venue i saw Little Jackie Shane,,,,a cross dressing soul singer a few years later,,,,,but Eddie i believe the Plaza was at the North /West side of Jane and Wilson.. iknow because i went to school at ST Phillips which was opposite side of Wilson

One of my ATF albums turned 29 yesterday. A complete r&b/soul masterpiece from start to finish. My 3 favorite tracks

Bulletproof Soul. My absolute favorite Sade record. They rarely sang this song live.
