Why they are there is much more important than who they are (a point that lefties never seem to grasp). Fact is, they hate Trudeau's policies enough to show up to heckle him. And there seems to be more and more who feel the same way.

Bernier is mostly stalked by police who are enforcing the edicts of the local despots.

In America they would shoot him, the friendly Canadians only throw gravel.
It was just a little Taliban stoning!

Yup. They hate him because they believe that the pandemic is fake, that the vaccines are fake, that the mask mandates are "tyranny" and that he is a puppet of Big Pharma. Makes perfect sense. That's why they carry anti vaxx signs, scream "fuck off!" when he speaks and throw stones at him.

They're just not ordinary Canadian voters. They're guys like you, Oracle and JC who spend all their time looking at Far Right conspiracy theory web pages that tell them that the pandemic is a fake and that Trump really won the election in 2020 and that the January 6 arrestees are "political prisoners".

That's why you're defending them right now. You like them. They're have the same views and ideas - give or take - as you and your friends.

And there are more like them. Probably 0.5 - 1.0% of the electorate is that nuts. The other 99% of voters are sane.

No seat Max is pushing around 4% of the vote count. I'd hazard a guess that most are there because they are pro death.
Then you get the locos who just happen to prefer other parties.
Add to that the other types of crazys, like the woketards, the pro vaccine Trumptards, people who think Justin Beiber isn't history's greatest monster, people who put pineapple on pizza etc.

Strange women in ponds, the longer I live the more it makes sense, even if it means a dufus like Charles in charge.

You are a one trick pony. Shurely (in the style of Frank Magazine), a [lawyer] of your experience could think of another angle, especially since the tack you are taking is getting you nowhere?

I'm sure the cries of "fuck off" are quite heartfelt. That's exactly what many Canadians would like Trudeau to do. You really can't complain about the clarity of those statements. No conspiracy at all is needed to form a real hatred of this guy. All you have to know is what he says, what policies he implements, his disdain for rules of ethics, and see his utter contempt for the "not-a-trust-fund-baby" class (just about everyone else).

I'm sure you're as upset about the stones thrown at him as the world press was about that diabolical shoe attack that was made on George Bush. Pull-easse!

I think your estimate of the number of functionally insane/irrational Canadians is wildly low. Some of them throw stones. Quite a lot more of them vote against their own interests by electing Liberals, over and over again, but expecting different results each time!

Dutch, 33 - 35% of eligible voting Canadians dislike Justin enough to vote for O' Toole in what is becoming simply a personality choice - since they appear to have almost the same policies and views at this point. Those are NOT the people fighting with his security, screaming "fuck off", disrupting his rallies and stalking his campaign bus. Those latter people are anti vaxx, far right idiots. They are the same people who harass doctors at Mount Sinai and other hospitals and claim that their COVID patients are "medical hostages" and crazy like that.

Most people who are going to vote Tory this fall are decent, normal, hard working folk who'll read the newspaper, watch the debates and quietly go to the polls on election day. The sane people.

These people just don't like how he is trying to get people vaccinated and safe. They are anti-covid mouth breathers. It's not like they care about his economic recovery plans or his energy policy. They are a one-issue group, and would probably protest Doug Ford if he were on the campaign trail right now. Heck, if O'Toole were in power and doing this stuff, he'd get this same reception.

So, the right-wingers here can try to pretend this is a small group of people who represent a silent majority, that just isn't the case. While Trudeau is not as popular as he might have believed (and again, I need to state that I'm not a fan of his), I don't think this really shows anything more than a small, ignorant minority who feel they should be allowed to enter polite society without having the vaccine. They also are taking notes from how the right-wingers are acting south of the border, so if this seems familiar...it is.

Now, before you all jump on me, I do share some of their concerns. Let's face it, there are some groups that cannot get the jab because of legitimate health concerns from pre-existing conditions, or for religious reasons (specifically groups like Christian Scientists or Dutch Reformers). But a lot of these anti-vaxxers are also anti-mask wearers, and they are just going to spread the disease to more people, or get sick and overwhelm our health system. Something needs to be done.

Well, look at that, you stumbled upon being half correct! Half marks for you! Yes, they are driven by their views on policy, and it doesn't matter to them which party wants to implement those policies. However, there's more than one policy of Trudeau's they don't like. They don't like his refugee policy. They don't like how he handled evacuation of Canadians from Afghanistan. They don't like his ethics violations. They don't like his phoney feminism. They don't like his systemic racism nonsense. They don't like that he paid off a terrorist. There's quite a few reasons they don't like him.

Being obnoxious is not the same as being ignorant. And being polite is not the same as being right.

Fair enough. If there is something to be done that would inarguably end these pandemic measures, you'd be making a valid point. However, no one seems to know what that is, and in the meantime politicians like Trudeau are prepared to have people lose their jobs, bankrupt their businesses, lose the dignity of supporting their elders as they leave this world (by restricting hospital visitation), and so on, and so on. People have had enough of pompous dufuses like Trudeau who find such harm to be so trivial while engaging in utter guesswork and political posturing. And yes, Ford, has been just as bad.
