Seriously - wtf is going on ??
Every day it seems there is another shooting - often fatal.

Is it the stress of the pandemic, the heat wave, people no longer thinking of the consequences of their actions, more guns on the streets ??
Does anyone know the statistics related to gun violence this year as compared to recent years?

I really don't give a fuk if wanna be gangsters kill each other off .
It's the innocent people ,family and kids that get hurt or killed in the crossfire or injured running for their lives that really disgusts me.

We have a low murder rate in comparison to the cities out west.

That's the problem with these diaper gangstas, they can't shoot straight. Which is what happened at the Eaton Center Food Court shooting. At least the 2014 WC hit in Little Italy was clean.

people don't realize how difficult it is to hit something with a pistol you only have a few inches of barrel to spin and stabilize the bullet it take practice and lots of it to become proficient with a pistol any movement of your hand or body can throw the shot off by many feet

My observation was related just to Toronto as my perception is that gun violence is up this year over previous years.

Toronto Police Services publishes detailed statistics. I have not had my morning coffee yet - so have not taken a close look at the stats to see on a YTD basis if 2021 is higher than previous years.

Homicide rates are definitely not up. I do suspect "shootings" in itself might be though.

Correct, a piece of paper is .05 of an inch thick, if the sights on the hand gun are 6" apart, at 20 feet (about the length of an average pickup) if you are off on your sights by the thickness of a piece of paper, your bullet will hit 2" from where you intended.
1 click on a scope is usually 1/4" at 100 yds., that 1/4 inch is generally the thickness of the reticle lines at the crosshairs..

At least one of the suspects is in custody. The police are not releasing any details about him, including his name.
