I believe many evangelicals think New Babylon is the E.U. or some form of a united (godless) Europe. It's one reason many of those Christians do not trust the United Nations and believe the United Nations is a precursor to a one world gov't. Of course many of these people just interpret the Bible to fit their own ideology, without any context to times it was written in.

First of all, there are numerous "revelations" in early Christian writings, but only one made the cut. Apocalypticists have been spinning Revelations to fit the era they are in for 1,800 years of so. The lord is coming - soon...

Whether it biblical, or Nostradamus... or any sort of prophetic thing, I think most of us trained to look at it through our own unique view of life. What other view do we have to apply things too?

Not quite. Never regarded "Do unto others" as bullshit, but many of today's "Christians" seem to feel that way....

True, some of the advice is commendable, but much of it, including that one, predates christianity. I meant that the central story is bullshit.
