There were no explosives.

Right, a video of people rushing the defacto border and attacking the border guards shows that it was not a peaceful rally 100 m away from the border where Hamas instructed them to be.
As I said, it still comes down to timing. If the kid was away from the border and was shot, it is wrong and I get people rushing and attacking the IDF in response. If the kid was part of the group that shot the soldier then it is perfectly reasonable for the IDF to return fire.
But when it comes to Israel, you never need to wait for actual details.

If you have any evidence that this kid was peacefully protesting away from the border and not part of the group who shot an Israeli soldier, provide it.
p.s. Israel is under no obligation to provide Amnesty access to their intelligence assets. And does this mean you accept Amnesty's findings that Hamas rockets are not legitimate, nor are attacks on Israeli civilians in the West Bank?

If the kid was involved in shooting the soldier, the IDF is likely justified. If the kid was away from the border and his shooting had nothing to do with the attack on the soldier then it is a problem.
