If he took the money, it is to keep it out of the hands of the Taliban. The lefties must be so pissed. Their favourite terrorist gang has no money. Ha, ha.
Taliban regime faces financial crisis as they can't access central bank fund (opindia.com)
Dartsy, he took the money for the following reasons:

1. To bribe the pilot and owner of the plane to fly him tf out of Ghan.
2. To bribe whoever runs the shithole country he flew to, to let him stay there.
3. To rent the most distant, isolated mansion he can find and put an electric fence around it.
4. To hire some ex SAS and SEAL boys to take care of him.
5. To buy as many hookers and limos as he can - like I said above.

Why do you always make it about "lefties", Darts. IDC if Ghani has the $$$. I'd do exactly the same as he did.

The Taliban will get bribes from the Chinese and Russians anyway. And sell heroin and fentanyl to make $$$$. And they "marry" women from the local subject population for a night or two. And ride motor scooters. Their needs are simple.

I think you are partly blinded by propaganda and sympathy for your American friends.

Last time the Taliban was in charge, they reduced the opium production in Afghanistan by 99%. They have said they will do this again.

It was the American allies that increased opium production.

While I do not generally put much value on Taliban announcements, I am not either valuing your predictions too highly.

I don't think you are able to see into the future.
I posted a bunch of links on that issue when Butler was also doing the Taliban Cheerleader thang.

There are some cynical people who suggest that the T's just shut opium down for a year or so to drive up the price. The West also shut opium down. (It had apparently sprung back up under the Talis towards the end.) That was what drove many warlords to become Taliban supporters again.
