Where did he go? Dubai?
With $169 million in cash.

Well, there goes democracy and the end of corruption....

He needed a shorter leash. He may not be able to run from the ICC, or hide from the paparazzi...

Yet another stain on the US foreign policy.

Showed up in UAE now. Interesting to see whether he actually took any money or not...

Sounds like he's already convicted and they haven't even caught him yet...

$167 million probably means that they never will catch him either. And that - Grasshopper! - is why you take $167 million in $100 bills in suitcases in a limo with you when you are escaping from a 3rd World country.

A third world country where the Americans have flown in plane loads of $100 bills for 20 years.

But it is all good, he is a ghani.

Ghani has now officially denied stealing $167 million in $100 bills in suitcases from the Afghan treasury btw.

“I left with just a waistcoat and some clothes. The personality assassination against me has been ongoing, saying that I have taken money with me,” Ghani said in the video.

“The accusations are baseless lies. You can even ask customs officials – they are baseless.”

“I am in consultation for my return to Afghanistan so that I can continue efforts for justice, true Islamic and national values.”

Interesting issue at this exact point in time. The Taliban has illegally seized control of the country by force. They will certainly also illegally seize whatever government assets are left in the country. If the legitimate leader of the country removes assets from their grasp, perhaps even with a view to using those assets to organize a counteroffensive at some point, is that leader in the wrong? If he lies about it, is he in the wrong?

It remains to be seen whether that is Ghani's plan, or whether he just intends a wealthy retirement.

You hit the nail on the head! The Taliban - by force - illegally seized control of an American state. Next they will seize control of Michgan.

Meanwhile everyone ignores where the real money is being put.

He's going to spend that $167 million on hookers and limos. And IMHO, he is not wrong to do so.
