Probably a lot of that is fake, as the leaders were skimming the soldier's wages and cooking the books.

the Afghan army had more than 1,000 generals (more generals than the USA army). Obviously all paid by the US taxpayer
more than enough generals to guard the airport :)

The Taliban wants all those quislings to go to America. They would only be trouble, and the reaction of the world if they killed them would be terrible.

Smart to let them go. Surely the Taliban could overrun the airport if they wanted to, or at a minimum make it inoperable. Kabul is in the center of a bowl.

I know it is hard, but you have to come to terms with the fact, that The Americans lost the war, and the Taliban rules Afghanistan.

Why would I not come to terms with that last fact, Danny? I've been agreeing with it since the threads started.

They give no fuck about what the rest of the world thinks and civil wars in Ghan are generally followed with retaliation massacres.

They could make the airport inoperable, but the US would rush in troops and take the mountains and establish a safe perimeter. That's what they have already done around the airport. They would just need to bring more troops and start flying strike missions on Tali positions. In a straight-up firefight, there is only 1 possible result and it's quick and nasty and involves a LOT of dead Talis. The Talis dread F-18's and A-10's and have avoided them for a decade. They also have no response for properly deployed US ground troops. Talis fight guerilla wars, not formal operations.

True, but the US also dreads civilian deaths while they are retreating. I don't think Biden would bomb around the airport and risk that.

I will give you that

It is much much easier to disrupt an airport than securing the take offs and landings. That is what guerilla forces are experts in. For the Americans to retake Kabul, what would it take? 50,000 troops?

The Taliban is letting the Americans run the Airport, because they want to foreigners and the quislings out of the country.

Afghanistan has been a war zone for centuries, for the Taliban to survive they cannot commit atrocities.

W gave the Taliban a lifeline by allowing bin Laden to escape from Tora Bora. He came in like George Foreman and went out like Woody Allen. If they encroach on Iranian or Russian spheres of influence there will be war again. The Chinese will help only as long as they can exploit the country's resources. Remember the PRC met the Taliban commanders in the industrial city of Tianjin, they didn't want the filthy savages anywhere near Beijing.

As for their Wahhabbi brethren in Saudi Arabia, they're too busy getting their petticoats aflutter over Houthi resistance. The Taliban are on their own.

In a head to head fight the Americans very seldom lose. The same can be said for bullies throughout history...
