So I have been touring around a bit. Stretching my legs from COVID lockdowns so to speak.

Hotels have SHITTY bed. And it sucks. It is one reason I may actually stop touring.

I have a Craftmatic Tempur-pedic adjustable bed at home and a great new mattress that is also Tempur-pedic at the trailer. Which are great mattresses.

These hotel mattresses just kill my back. It sets the mood for the whole day. Pain brings a grumpy mood. I mean I take Advil but I hate waking up this way and waiting to 30 mins for the Advil to kick in.

Many who have back problems don’t realize that a lot of it can come from a bad mattress. Which sucks because beds are expensive.

I can only recommend saving the money to buy a quality mattress with a proper warranty. It is an investment in your overall physical and mental health.

In the meantime, pray for my back. She needs it. LOL

Weird, my experience is that most hotel mattresses are great and I have a fantastic sleep! I guess we are all different in the type of mattress our body needs.

Very true!!!!

I had one bed a few weeks ago that woke me up in the middle of the night from the back pain.

I have had a few good mattresses but those are few and far between.

I just find the mattresses are old and very used. LOL.

A good mattress and pillows are essential for a proper restful sleep.

I typically sleep in 100-150 hotel beds a year. Various levels of hotels from mid-range to five star. It's true at one time some hotels used cheap mattresses but, over the past five years the trend has has been towards better quality.

Old mattresses (I would suggest 18 months is about max in the hotel world) and un-rotated mattresses are probably more likely the culprit.

Yeah, it may be not rotated. Whatever it is, I hate it. LOL

Here
Most good quality beds these days are not meant to be rotated or flipped.... which is why the mattresses have no handles...

And if you have a problematic back, try an air mattress... not the cheap ones, but the well made ones with proper ticking and a pump that continuously adjusts the air pressure to exactly the way you choose and suits you and your back... firm, but like floating on air -- which, of course, is what they are... great for fucking, too!

Certainly the 'pillow top' type should not be flipped, but those are rare in hotels due to...um...liquid goo messes.

Raddison Hotels went crazy with the 'sleep number' (air mattress) beds a few years back. I probably spent 60 nights or so on them over the years. Never liked them

Believe it or not hotel mattresses get slept on less due to multiple room nights. And more time being aired out due to frequent changes(most houses do it what once a week?)

When I stayed at a Sheridan several years ago due to an airline mix up for free I called housekeeping when I got home to request the brand.

Get a better quality of hotel, and you will get a better quality of mattress.

Reminds me of my 20s. Question is which hotels have mattresses you like?

That could be a good advertising option for a hotel. Would you like a room with a firm mattress or soft mattress? I have heard of hotels having a selection of pillows to choose from.

I like the soft/hard pillow option. I’m a softie. I guess I find the beds either to hard on average.
