So the argument is that since there were over 1 million arrests, that means Biden let 1 million people into the country?
Because "arrests" means "open borders" now?

Interestingly, the article mentions that MSNBC generates $423 per prime-time household reached annually — a significantly higher number than the more widely watched, but evidently less valuable — Fox News.
Does that mean that deplorables have less money as they present less interest to advertisers?
A lot of advertisers boycott Tucker Carlson and Hannity that probably plays a part in this stat, which I wouldn't put much stock in. Fox is by far the most watched, most trusted, most profitable cable news network in America.

You are such a fake. You know very well that the illegals are being processed and released into the US. Virtually every news outlet reports that, yet here you are pretending that this is not happening. How the fuck this is not an open border policy?

It's self contradictory.

If they were arrested, that - by definition - means the border is not "open".

And there have been similar spikes before, in 2000 and 1980.

And there appears to be no correlation to the spike and Biden's "policies". The spike is related to deteriorating conditions in Central America.

No.

Asylum seekers are released into internment camps to await asylum hearings, if there are mothers or children involved. If not, they are turned back into Mexico to await their asylum hearings.

The illegal migrants are deported back into Mexico.

I wrote all this out for you above. Remember....

There are 3 categories:

1. Refugees, who are pre processed and brought to the USA, in very small numbers. Trump cut back on this #. Biden has increased it.
2. Asylum seekers who are entitled to claim asylum pursuant to the UNCHR, which was signed by Eisenhower in the 1950's and made law by Congress. Biden has largely followed Trump's policies on this, except mothers and children are now allowed into the US and kept in internment camps. They claim asylum at a US border crossing. If they fail their asylum hearing, they are then sent back to Central America.
3. Illegals.

Your sources deliberately conflate the 3 categories to create the illusion that Biden is allowing illegals to flood the US. That is because you read shit like Breitbart and listen to shit like Fox. The aim of these media sources is to portray Biden as a senile, demented, commie incompetent and demand that Trump be returned to office.

You're going to refrain from reading or discussing what I just wrote. You're going to claim it's "spin" and somehow Biden has decided to allow millions of Latin Americans to just move into the USA.

I'm just saving everybody from repeating their / my posts throughout another 2 pages of thread.

Because it is spin. When even fucking Reuters report 1.1 million illegal entries, you got a problem- whether some guy in Canada acknowledges or not.

It's a perennial problem.

Like shop lifting, or speeding, or wife-beating or any other law infringement issue. It's got fa to do with this administration. Or the last one. Or the one before that.

What do you suggest?...... Building a big wall, that the illegals will just tunnel under or climb over?

I am an immigrant to Canada, and you regularly call me a leftist, even as I do not consider myself such.

It is, and while some influence can be done from the US side, it is not the only factor. (Most people studying it say it isn't even the most important factor.)

Anyway, this is what apprehensions have looked like over the last 20 years or so, not including this year since the fiscal year isn't done. Instead, it looks more like 2019 under Trump, or probably more accurately, early 2000's style numbers from the Bush era.

I've been an immigrant, JC. Pretty much everyone on this board is a first or second generation immigrant. Hey, it's Toronto.

I've read articles which reference the factors that I have already mentioned - massive instability in Central America.

Those same articles make the point that early 2000's illegal immigration was Mexican in origin. That subsided as conditions in Mexico improved and then soared again as conditions deteriorated in Central America.

It's possible that rumours circulate among the desperate and unsophisticated migrants that the Biden administration ushers in a golden era of benevolent indulgence, but there is nothing concrete to substantiate that these rumours even occur or that the Biden admin is going to be much less unkind than Trump's.

Of course that never stopped a good lie-fest from Fox News or people like JC or Oracle repeating every ounce of bullshit that they hear on their favourite TV show.

The conditions of the countries people are leaving from seems to be the main driver, yes.
