The 2nd part is true the first part mostly true. However there were medical experiments and they used vans set up to pump fumes in the back [granted a kinda mobile gas chamber. Also there was death through starvation and disease which was inevitable and intended considering the conditions. Anne Frank IIRC died of Typhus.
Let us also not forget the Ghettos which were basically set up slowly have their populations die off
