its the right thing to do.:ROFLMAO:
That may be the first time that you are correct. Not only does one protect themself but they are helping us reach a national herd immunity, meaning that we are closer to reacquiring our normal way of life.

I agree, if they were diagnosed as covid case pre-vaccines, I would bet that all those poor people mentioned above would have definitely had covid.
Also if they weren't diagnosed as covid case pre-vaccines, I would bet that all those poor people mentioned above would have definitely not had covid.
Come on Pete, even if you had messy hair in the morning, a PCR test would have told you that you had covid! :ROFLMAO:

Covid diagnosis was becoming a joke. People who died of anything but covid all the sudden had covid as cause of death....

Why not take all 3 different vaccines? If mixing vaccines is ok why not take all 3? You would be super protected. 2 shots are good but 3 are even better.
It probably is, but probably not so much better that it is worth making it policy.

But....but.....I thought the science was settled
Lol! It is because of the constantly shifting "science" that I am relying on my early exposure to Covid and taking my sweet time getting vaccinated.

Apparently neither does the WHO
You should try watching the actual clip and not listen to the news media which prioritizes sensationalist reporting for clicks.

Turns out my guess that this was being misrepresented is correct.
What a surprise.

Right, and many experts have previously said its 100% safe to mix & match different vaccines.

So who's right, the "experts" or the WHO??

The government of Canada: https://www.cp24.com/news/canadian-...vaccine-strategy-after-who-comments-1.5505975

In a statement to CP24.com Monday evening, Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada said the NACI weighed a number of factors in making its recommendations.

“NACI reviewed all available evidence from ongoing studies monitoring the mixing of COVID-19 vaccines,” the statement read. “NACI also considered the risk of Vaccine-Induced Immune Thrombotic Thrombocytopenia (VITT) associated with COVID-19 viral vector vaccines, Canada’s current and projected mRNA (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna) vaccine supply and principles of ethical decision-making. Updated recommendations were based on the current evidence and NACI’s expert opinion.”

Speaking to reporters Monday, Canada’s Procurement Minister Anita Anand said that she and her family have taken mixed doses based on the recommendation of Canadian scientists and health authorities.

“For our part at the federal government, we will continue to follow the science and we will continue to bring in vaccines, so that there is sufficient supply, regardless of what the recommendations are from the scientists,” she said.

While there have not been any studies specifically examining mixing and matching Pfizer and Moderna, the NACI said it was basing its recommendation on sound principles of vaccinology and the fact that both vaccines have very similar efficacy and side effects and function in a very similar way.

“No data currently exist on the interchangeability of COVID-19 mRNA vaccines,” the NACI said in its recommendation. “However, there is no reason to believe that mRNA vaccine series completion with a different authorized mRNA vaccine product will result in any additional safety issues or deficiency in protection.”

In a tweet, infectious disease specialist Dr. Abdu Sharkawy said the WHO statement should not be taken as a factual assertion that mixing vaccines is not safe.

“Let's be clear. This does NOT mean that mix/match is not effective or safe,” Sharkawy wrote. “Certainly enough emerging data to support both. But decisions should be guided locally, regionally by PH (public health units)/medical expertise not individuals.”

And also the Ontario government: https://toronto.ctvnews.ca/ontario-...g-covid-19-vaccines-dangerous-trend-1.5506389

The Ontario government has issued a statement after the World Health Organization’s chief scientist called mixing COVID-19 vaccines a "dangerous trend."

The World Health Organization's Chief Scientist Dr. Soumya Swaminathan said on Monday that she advised against people mixing and matching COVID-19 vaccines from different manufacturers.

The comments were made by Swaminathan while she was discussing booster doses of the COVID-19 vaccine during an online briefing.

"It's a little bit of a dangerous trend here. We are in a data-free, evidence-free zone as far as mix and match," Swaminathan said.

"It will be a chaotic situation in countries if citizens start deciding when and who will be taking a second, a third and a fourth dose."

In a statement to CTV News Toronto on Monday, Carly Luis, the director of communications for Health Minister Christine Elliott, said Ontario will continue mixing vaccine doses.

"Ontario continues to follow the advice of the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI), which recommends that it is safe to mix vaccines based on studies from the UK, Spain and Germany that have found that mixing vaccines is safe and produces a strong immune response," Luis said

No, what is it they say then???
They looked at it and stand by their decision.
Nowhere do they say "This is 100% safe". As far as I know, no one has ever said that about anything, because it would be a silly thing to say.
