I'm not sure either. The linked text seems incredibly anodyne.
It's like The Sun just rings the bell with the trigger word "woke" and they all start drooling on command.
They are getting away from teaching students fundamentals and first principles that have been taught over the past 70 years and what put people on the moon without powerful super computers.
Now math is becoming subjective and based interpretation and on top of this they will inject a toxic divisive racist ideology disguised at being anti racist and pro human.
in reality the ones who can afford homeschooling, private education and tutoring will further go ahead and cause the social divide and inequality while people living in poverty and or stuck in lower class will be at a disadvantage especially when they reach university status and at the mercy of these ever changing toxic ideologies. Math and logic doesn’t care about ideology and is truth regardless of what delusional people think. They are playing social engineering games on them while ignoring the consequences and backfire and backlash.
Don’t believe me ask any professional parent and what they think of maths now in grade schools and high school and what their kids are being taught. This is especially true in the past year to two.Right not some teachers are not even allowed to grade the kids and report cards are filled with subjective generic bullshit they pasted from kid to kid from a temple. I have a kid both in high school and grade school and have seen the decline already and they coming home confused as fuck. Then me having to explain first principles and then them having 95+ average while the majority of the class average is in mid 70s. Now add a racist divisive tribal ideology wrapped as being anti racist pro humanity and the kids growing up right now will suffer and be disadvantaged even more regardless of race.
Majority of us on this site won’t especially the ones who are dual citizens and have property in other countries and that can just pack up and move. If we see it get unbearable we can just take our money, move to a cheaper country and allow these toxic woke ideologist to burn the country down and watch it eat itself from within while the rest of the world takes advantage due to a countries own government disadvantaging it’s people for the benefit and exploitation of the outsiders.

If the UK spends 5 billion pounds on nuclear weapons and a life in Africa can be saved with 15 pounds, how many lives can be saved by getting rid of nuclear weapons.
Worst thing is they demanded an answer that is wrong. It isn't 5 billion/15, the answer is 0. All that money would get spent on conventional weapons.
As for race and disadvantage.
I knew this single mother 25 years ago. White chick, white kid about 5 or 6. In front of her kid she would make fun of me and her boyfriend if we were reading the paper or anything for that matter. What sort of message do you think that sends the kid. The kid is pretty fucked unless she is abnormally driven [she wasn't] or finds a role model that counteracts her idiot mother. Not to worry though. The kid was a ginger so not as if it had a soul.

Aren't these the exact same responses to every math change because "that's not how it was done in my day"? As long as people have something to whine about.

It's funny and scary at the same time because this curriculum revamp is loosely addressing exactly what happened in this thread.
