Trudeau govt listens to experts. Advice is offered and decisions are made based on advice. Dunno why you cannot grasp that. The govt did not fuck up on procurement. If you think they did, please describe how you would have done better. Flying by the seat of ones pants in a global emergency is not ideal, but its a reality. Being able to make rapid decisions and respond to new data as it emerges is a good thing, yet yokels like you cannot deal with course corrections and the need to adapt on the fly. No of course the shots would not have been delayed if there was ample supply. How would YOU have obtained ample supply? The decision was made as it was best of Canada as a whole.

There was science to back up the delay and it came from NACI who are a bunch of scientists and experts. All the vaccines delivered are counted and tallied on several portals. If you could learn how to use google you could find all this wonderful info and could put your pointless conspiracies to rest.

You cannot say we are in poor shape in Canada---->Ontario, as a matter of fact, you can say we are doing great on the vaccination front.
As the results are CLEARLY showing, it was a good decision. Why are you still trying to condemn a decision when the results are in, and show it was a good decision? In fact the results are much better then the USA. So what again is your complaint? That NACI made a good recommendation that worked well and it pisses you off?

The decision was evidence based. The data was in the approval trials. So saying there was no evidence is just NONSENSE. Now there is much broader evidence. So why are you still bitching? Don't you think the manufacturer tested one dose before they tested 2 doses? The results were - 1 dose is good but 2 are better.

There was plenty of evidence, the vaccines had been tested months ago, plus this is not the first vaccine in history. There is a good understanding of how the immune system works. Why does it matter what other nations are doing? Canada is an advanced country and can make decisions based on its own. UK decided to do 90 days with no other country. Someone has to go first. There was real world evidence and what we know from the history of vaccines and what is known about the platform.
There were no studies on exactly this, but there was room for an educated guess.
They took the chance and it turned out to pay off.

There is a lot of real world experience with vaccines and the immune system. NACI knows its VERY UNLIKELY that if you have good immunity at 2 months, its just going to be gone in 4 months. All options had risks. If you insist on 2 shots at 3 weeks the risk was wider spread of covid and more deaths and hospitalizations. Every path had a risk, this is what you don't seem to get. This was the best option. AND IT WORKED!!!!! Canada delivered better results then the US did even with their huge supply of vax. That is a great success for a made in Canada solution.
