Jeez, Phil. They did this one to death 3 years ago insisting for weeks that Hussain was a secret ISIS op. Assuming that the "info" was even true - because a lot of the media sales game with Hussain was constantly baiting that he might be a jihadi - nothing ever emerged to suggest that he was ISIS affiliated. I might visit the website of the Communist Party of Venezuela, the Proud Boys or QAnon for no other reason than shits and giggles.

With Hussain, I recall that the Sun worked it for a couple of months that "an inside police source" was about to publicly announce that Hussain was jihadi. It was complete BS. There was no "police source". There was never a public announcement. It was nonsense to generate clicks and sales
I dont think he was Jihadi or with ISIS. I think he was another incel who hated the world, but he also hated the West and his religion helped fuel his killing spree. His visits to ISIS websites definitely contributed to his state of mind

HHmm.....conflicting reports: https://lfpress.com/news/local-news/who-is-nathaniel-veltman-accused-in-alleged-london-hate-killings

The pickup driver (Veltman) was wearing what appeared to be a bullet-proof vest, a military-style helmet and clothing that perhaps had swastikas on it
Police have confirmed the driver was wearing a body-armour-style vest at the time of his arrest, but a police spokesperson declined to say whether he was also wearing anything depicting swastikas
“Nate is not a radical terrorist. He is nothing like that. He is not an Islamophobe. That’s not who this kid is,” said one friend.

The friend, who hails from the Middle East, said he never heard Veltman say a bad thing about the Middle East or Muslims. “Nate was a very close friend and never said anything bad to me,” the man said.

Another friend said Veltman “never said anything hateful” about any groups

The problem with the Israel/palestine issue is thst if you feel the need to pick a side you have to overlook some wrong doing. The Israeli government violates the rights of people in Gaza on a number of levels check out amnesty.org.

To side wirh Hamas you have to overlook guerilla warfare tactics.

Both sides has blood on their hands. Lots of it. It will not end well if both sides wont put down their weapons.

As for the driver..... ill be interested to see what evidence comes out that this was a hate crime and poasibly terrorism. The cops dont throw that around lightly so they likely have info we arent pruvy to.

This is a sad reminder that as much as Canada wants to think it isnt racist.... we have a racist past and present. The reason for some it doesnr feel that way is that its hard to notice racism if you arent the target.
WRONG to side with hamas you are supporting a designated terrorist group

I just wish we had a definitive law where there is zero chance of someone like that ever getting out. Fantasizing here, but I would like to see his face where a judge said to him:

"You will never have a girlfriend. You will never go out with your buddies to a game or a bar. You will never drive a vehicle again, or go on a vacation, or have a child, or a spouse. Never have pizza and wings and beer. Never have a Friday with the weekend to look forward to. All you will ever experience is a few different rooms in ONE building, confined to a small space for the entirety of your remaining life."

Hockey star Nazen Kadri sent out a tweet last night. He was born and raised in London and played junior with the London Knights. He said in the past that he and his family were well treated in London.

London is a hardcore lefty (NDP and Liberal MPP's and MP's). It is not a right wing city at all. Anybody who tells you otherwise is lying and/or never lived in London. (Yes, I lived in London for almost a year two lifetimes ago.)

However, something has definitely gone off the rail since I lived there.

The police also reported that he was laughing a lot when they stopped him, they found no connection to internet groups or anything white supremacist. Then looking at this picture above, he does look like a nut. Nevertheless its a tragedy and mental illness or not they should throw away the key.

I don't actually agree with that statement. In order to choose a side you have to weigh the wrongdoings of each. Very few groups, be they political or religious or other distinction, are pure white. If any.
This, of course, presents a problem in today's environment where people never forgive, nor forget.

True enough.
We should just let the human rights organizations report in and send in the ICC to charge whoever did whatever the think happened.
The UN should have been the way to cover this stuff, but the veto at the UNSC stops them from being effective.

With all due respect, how do you come to this laughable, hackneyed conclusion?

If you checked the computer search history of a person who is a dedicated and obsessed anti-racist/anti-Nazi, I can almost promise that you'd find visits to white supremacist websites and names like Adolf Hitler and George Lincoln Rockwell in the search engine.

Kinda strange how a news story about a family getting run over has degenerated into a Jew vs Palestine, ISIS, and religious fundamentalism

I consider myself quite right wing but even I think there is a huge amount of racism in this thread

Is there ANYTHING that links this story to hatred (by either the killer or the family) or is this just a case of certain posters roots are showing?

(BTW taking thread off on tangents is actually against Terbs rules as well assuming mods want to enforce anything)

Just what the police and politicians have said about the perp and his motivations.
They think he targeted that family for race in a premeditated attack.

Do you have reasons to doubt those claims and that it wasn't about race?
