Hollywood enables horny, powerful producers, directors and agents to prey on women and handsome dudes???!! Who knew???!!??!! I am shocked!!!

At the same time, most of those women and handsome dudes would have gladly goat-throated those same old predatory reptiles for a "break" or "the right part". I fringed in the Can film biz 20 years ago and fucking your way to the top was pretty much the way for many actors.

The reality is most people who can abuse their position of power over others, will. It's bloody sad.

In discussing Brain Singer as she does its about the abuse of underagers.

Still want to be so cavalier?

not just actors. Pretty much anyone in the business. PA’s hoping to be stand-ins. Standard crew trying to become a DOP or camera operators.

women in the industry will flirt, fellate, fuck anyone who seems to be of any importance until they learn the ropes of the business.

Likewise, getting involved in a situation like this can be a liability for men in the business. But what can I say? Long days, usually weeks (sometimes months) working with the same crew. Shit’s going to happen (especially on locations shoots when everyone is in the same hotels).

not victim blaming here. Just relaying personal experience.

Did I make any reference to the incident about underaged persons that she mentioned?... No. I was not referring to that. I was discussing something completely different.

But you attacked me anyway.

What's wrong?... Didn't want to miss a chance to put in a kick?

What is obvious is you didn't bother to look at what was said. Just assumed it was adults complaining about putting out after they got the bucks.

That was the main crux of the segment. Singer is well-known for his pool parties where teen boys are invited and his producer buddies come to oogle and take their pick. And its all protected, including paid off cops and politicians. Imagine that with a group of teen girls, although its rife with that as well.

Either way you would be happy to Sue any other corporation for sexual harassment but are clearly in your tone saying in Hollywood its ok, because the victims are happy to oblige.

Unless you would care to clarify things?

I heard the reference to underaged kids. I just wasn't referring to those alleged incidents. I was referring to my own personal observations in the film biz, as was another participant in the thread. We were talking about ADULTS. That why I used the terminology "women" and "handsome dudes". These terms refer to adults, not children. You seem to need guidance on this use of the English language. As well as on your attitude generally.

I had not read anything about Singer. I had no idea whether McGowan was making shit up - as she's a PR hound - or whether the incidents were real and / or verified. So I did not choose to comment on that part of the interview.

I did not imply that underaged kids were "happy to sexually oblige". I was referring to ADULTS. (See paragraph above). None of my comments related to that part of the interview where McGowan discussed the alleged child abuse. And frankly, none of my comments can be read as condoning child sexual abuse, except perhaps by a guy like yourself who's looking for a fight and to force his supposed moral superiority down another person's throat.

Now here's my suggestion, Butler. Instead of continuing to try and put words in my mouth, why don't you walk back and fore on your front lawn screaming at the neighbourhood kids and yelling at your neighbours to clean up their dogs' shit off your sidewalk. You have a better chance of winning that argument.

About 15 years ago on a business trip a new young beautiful staffer ended up in my hotel room after work.... She's obviously delaying our way to dinner and even lay down on her back on the bed... Telling me she want's to be move to my team... It was not my decision and somehow we leave the room without doing anything. She's pissed but I had a policy of not fucking our staff.

About 5 years later I am at that same hotel in the bar having a beer with my boss. I tell him the story about that girl (who had left 2-3 years earlier). How she lay down on the bed and looked at the empty space beside her as a sign for me to join but I did not... My boss looks puzzled... He turns around and yell to the barman "Hey me and that fucking idiot beside me will have another beer" :ROFLMAO:

So again. You are fine with the promotion of a culture that allows producers to demand sexual favors for parts. Or for low level people to be able to get ahead by doing offering as much.

Seems to me if that was the case in a top legal firm for positions leading to partnerships you might have something different to say. You would say age doesn't matter, that the actions are wrong.

Fact is you dismissed the whole thing by saying some actors would be happy to do it. That isn't the point. The point is the onus is on the PRODUCERS not to have that culture in the first place, any more than a CEO should condone within a company. Sure some will do it. But it forces others to to compete. Right? When it should be a meritocracy right?

Thats why I called you out. Your words denote acceptance.

I agree that Hollywood needs to wash it's ass but Rose McGowan has as much credibility as Prince Harry.

She chose to party it up when she was young instead of working on her craft, roles for her dried up and now she's bitter. Claire Danes wasn't a very good actor when she started out but she worked hard to improve, she's earned the goodwill she currently enjoys. The era of the independent producer is dying out with actors taking on the responsibility themselves. The most successful being Brad Pitt who, among other critically acclaimed projects, has produced both of Barry Jenkins films (Moonlight, If Beale St Could Talk). He has 3 Best Picture production Oscars (The Departed, 12 Years a Slave, Moonlight).

Hollywood feels the heat but slopping out woke garbage wont help it's cause. Nobody bought into the notion that a 120 lbs girl can defeat an ex-Marine in a light saber fight. I stayed away from Star Wars, it must have looked absolutely ridiculous. Now Warner Media could be running head first into a brick wall, massive backlash is generating over Sissy Batman.

Both Adam Driver and John Boyega have major projects upcoming. Daisy Ridley's career is up in the air, she going to need to work very hard to put the Jedi Messiah behind her.

Seriously, dude. Exactly what world do you live in?

Do you think I control who fucks whom and what he / she gets in return? If I went on the Today Show or Dr Phil this afternoon and said "On behalf of Butler and myself, I deplore actors giving blowjobs to get parts in shows." , do you think it would make the slightest iota of difference?

The actors want to do it because they expect a pay-off. You want me to also denounce women who fuck guys because they expect $300 paid to them? Or women who fuck 70 year old millionaires to get condos purchased for them?

The industry condones it because it's universal and because power flows very vertically in the movie business and everybody shows loyalty to the guy / woman above him / her - or else they're suddenly no longer working and they suddenly no longer have friends and contacts in the industry - i.e. they're blacklisted. That's how the movie business rolls.

For the record, I wasn't wild about the movie industry either. Compared to the film biz, being a divorce lawyer is like taking a shower in cool, clear mountain spring water. But it is what it is. And the actors, techies, agents and other assorted people are in that business because they friggin' want to be. They could be working at an accountant's office or as real estate agents or whatever tf. No one's pointing a gun.

And if you ever made your little speech to an actual group of show biz people - i.e. the very fucking people that you pretend you want to "save" - you'd be shown a LOT of cold shoulders and kicked the hell out of that room before you finished speaking.

So take the little pose somewhere else.

Right. I'm in the business, so I condone it, for money. That's your final argument. Man you just keep on showing just what kind of a person you are.

I live in the real world. Whats wrong with wanting to see it bettered? And you meanwhile will stay in a room with scumbags who go after underagers for sex, because they pay you to do so.

That's who you just admitted you are.

Butler, the people in the industry - incl the women and men giving the blowjobs - don't even agree with you. It's an industry where there is one solid gig for every 1,000 (?) candidates, but if you get that gig you can make $$$ millions and become a legend. You don't think a few blowjobs and fucks aren't going to be offered in that situation?

You know ANYTHING about human nature?!

I used to work with a woman who was rumoured to be sleeping her way up the chain through different levels of management. At Christmas, Secret Santa gave her a pair of Happy Knees.

If there's anyone reading this thread who is currently connected to the movie industry, I have an unfinished screenplay, (84 page extended scene in .pdf available), that I can't get anyone to read. If you know someone in The Industry who would read it, start a conversation with me. You'd get a generous 'finder's fee' if I make a sale. The plot of the film can be explained in 100 words or less.

Not that much as come to light about pedophilia in the entertainment industry, Corey Feldman has remained silent. He may have a legit grievance and so may Anthony Rapp. Again Feldman chose to party when he had every opportunity to develop his acting skills. One of his group, River Phoenix died of OD, that may have traumitized him more than any perceived molestation. As for Anthony Rapp, he's keeping a career that he doesn't deserve going by using Kevin Spacey as his pin-cushion. His acting is as exciting as a snail's race. Rose McGowan and Asia Argento are both sex addicts, RMc was absolutely radiant when she was Marylin Manson's sex toy. They both take to the bully pulpit to justify their failed career - one of them got exposed. Remember it's an absolute privilege to be an in demand actor, not a given right. Sorry Butler, a perfect world doesn't exist.

I seriously doubt Emma Stone and Anya Taylor Joy spend much time sucking and fucking and taking it up the ass.
