The whole issue with this is, maybe this did escape from a lab. We really don't know. But the issue was Trump politicized the whole covid thing from the get-go. And since he's is a proven liar known for trying to deflect or distract from his inept handling of things, when he said it, who (besides the true believers) thought he could be correct?

First off, Trump is not right. At least, not yet. There is a chance he is, but considering how wrong he was about nearly everything else related to the pandemic....
And the Trump administration politicized this. Right from the get-go. He didn't want to take necessary steps to blunt the spread (like lockdowns), and never wore a mask. That led to a number of his sheeple followers into doing the same thing. Let's face it, there were about 500K deaths on Trump's watch, and there is a good chance that 3/4s of them could be alive today if he didn't make the virus a political issue.
Trump purposefully did jack shit about the virus because his son law told him that it is hurting blue states more than red states. While C19 was hitting blue states harder, he was talking shit about how blue states handled C19.

The facts are the US funded research at that lab on coronaviruses and a couple employees at the lab got sick. That gives enough reason to look further but the evidence now is not much different than the speculation trump pulled from his ass.

If you want to claim it was a man-made virus, provide some evidence (and no one in any authority position has backed that claim).
If you want to claim it was an accidental leak of a natural virus, the claim also needs evidence.
Meanwhile there are people who research genetics and genetic drift who say that there is no evidence of the virus being manipulated.

Sorry, he did what? I seem to recall that in the months after this supposed ban, there were several hundred thousand people entering the US on direct flights from China. He may have stopped non-residents from entering but he did nothing to actually stop travel from there.
