Hospitalized: 1292

In ICU: 785

In ICU + ventilator: 552

All numbers declining.

Does this prove lockdowns work ;
Its funny how you guys flip flop on this so much

A week ago it was "lockdowns are not working because people are out protesting"
Now (despite even larger protests) its "see lockdowns do work"

There are way more people outside this weekend than last weekend

You need to brush up on causality

*also; seeing as (again) majority of ICUs and deaths are from LTC (as always) are these old people out protesting or something? People keep posting 80 to 90% of them are already vaccinated and yet they still get sick hmm

I never said any of those things.

And am not aware of any such alleged conversations.

Are you not aware that being "outside" is considered much safer than being inside poorly ventilated places?

Protests per se are not dangerous unless they involve dangerous activities, e.g. everyone DFK everyone else, lol.

Vaccinated people can still get infected & sick, even die, e.g. crushed by car. It's just much less likely. Vaccine basics for kids ;

That is pretty much what I am saying
I don't care if its a thousand strong, you are not going to get sick from a protest (and historically the number of cases traced back to any of them is basically nill)

But
IF you have such a low chance of contracting Covid outside then HOW do you equate that fact with lockdowns "working"?

Even in your response you parrot how safe being outside is; so why are we in a lockdown and how is it working?

Those people on the buses to the Quebec protest would be at risk. Outdoors, keeping a few feet apart, and not sharing drinks is pretty low risk.

lol
All 5 cases?

Out of what, 5,000? 10,000 protestors?

You have a better chance of winning the lottery than you do of finding covid

There were reports of a motorcycle rally in the states that was studied & considered a significant spreader event.

I'm in no lockdown & even when i was i could go outside to walk along the beach or hike up a mountain without putting others at risk.

If everyone stayed home & never went out (= total lockdown), the virus would all but die on earth in a few weeks.

Likewise when you quarantine someone for a few weeks. Either the virus dies & the person lives, or the person dies [which kills the virus too because there is no other host for it to infect.]

Soft lockdowns work similarly. People are more isolated which contains the virus to their numerous particular little environments. The virus can't get out of those environments, so it is unable to infect uninfected people elsewhere, thereby protecting those people & keeping them from becoming infected.

OTOH without the lockdown many of those safe uninfected ones would be vulnerable. Especially when infection rates are escalating. Thereby leading to more deaths & putting hospitals at risk of being overwhelmed.

Visit some hospital ICU wards, with no mask or distancing, & plenty of door knob & tongue to tongue slobbering, & see if you can succeed at that.

Consider this a scientific experiment & if you don't get infected i'll believe covid19 is not real ;

You could also contact some newspapers & get your story published ;

I have

Posted this before but went to hospital multiple times
3 (or 4...?) different hospitals
They were all empty
They were all insane for clean (eg asking hand sanitizer anytime I touched something, running out cleaning a chair the second I was no longer sitting in it, opening doors so I would not touch them etc)

You have less chance of catching covid in a hospital than you do outside even

Nah, you haven't. Get to tongue licking everything in a hospital ICU with deathly sick covid patients.

At last report there were 100's in Ontario & have been for at least weeks.

Keep telling yourself that. A virus will do what it can and go away. Australia New Zealand Singapore South Korea and Japan all did hard lockdowns and still get cases.

You can't even catch it from surface transmission and yet everyone is going out of their way to constantly clean any surfaced that's been touched.

Cleaning surfaces is one thing
But like I said in my example

I sit in a chair then stand up and someone races over to clean the chair lol
That is insanity
And worse when you are there with a kid because they sit / stand / switch chairs constantly

Even if surface transmission was a thing I doubt that Covid can possibly go ass to ass when you are wearing pants lol

I will keep telling myself that. As should you.

None of those places had everyone stay home for weeks.
