Is herd immunity to COVID-19 possible? Experts increasingly say no.

I suppose I could just sum up your arguments.

I really do like the term "medical dictatorship" though.
Gotta work that into a story.

Sweden was a colossal covid19 failure with its herd immunity approach.

That has been discussed ad nauseum, and repeatedly proven, in the threads here discussing Sweden.

I'd suggest searching thread titles with the word "Sweden" in this forum & reading them very carefully with an open mind.
“Colossal failure” 😂

Do you ever get tired of being wrong?

Who cares about their neighbours? Have you ever been to any of these countries? I have. They are empty. How do they compare to Italy, Spain, France…us 😂

Their neighbours argument is the argument of nitwits.
Ah! So we can compare them to any country we want at random instead of the countries that share the region, environment, and broad nordic cultural heritage?
Awesome. Look how shitty they're doing vs Portugal, Morocco, and South Korea!

But seriously look, Sweden's insistence on a test and or vaccine passport helped, so did ramping up their restrictions in the beginning of the year.
They brought in the "Pandemilagen" (pandemic law) until September 2021 restricting the number of people who can gather to 8, giving police the right to break up groups that are larger than that and put you in jail for 6 months; no food or drinks in venues after 8:30, mask recommendations, etc. People use them to score political points but it isn't really fair considering like everyone else they've been trying to figure out how to handle this and getting mixed results.

Facts will not get through to flat-earth believers like CM/SPFREE. Try a make-believe yarn, he eats them up.

Experts are stupid as fuck.

Israel has about 62% of its citizens vaccinated. Throw in 10-20% of people who have natural antibodies from being infected and you're up to around 75% or so. Israel has almost zero new infections now, and plans to completely re-open soon. For all intents and purposes the pandemic is over for them

Not so fast with the pandemic being “ over for them” for Israel. Israel is connected to the rest of the world in so many ways so they are not out of the woods just yet unless they want to remain in isolation for a very long time. As long as places like India and Brazil are on fire with this stalwart mutating virus, no country is out of the pandemic. Actually being out of the pandemic is an oxymoron in terms unless one is out of this world.

The Pfizer vaccine in not nearly effective enough against the South African variant nor the Indian double mutation for Israel to feel secure anyway. Then there is the effects on the Israeli economy, significantly increased USA financial support is projected for Israel due to this pandemic. There are many moving parts to this pandemic which affects us all.

Israel is also refusing to test vaccinated people that die of flu like symptoms.

I don't disagree with you on that, but Israel has shown that herd immunity is possible so long as 75% of the world is vaccinated.

So the experts in OP's link are wrong

Their neighbours argument is the argument of nitwits.
So instead of comparing a country with other countries of similar demographics and culture [including tendency of extended family to live together and habits of social distancing] you would rather compare them with countries that would be more prone normally to the spread of disease. Instead of comparing to countries where less than 2m is considered pushy, yeah lets compare them to countries where not licking each other's faces is considered standoffish.
Also Sweden would be about as empty if not more so than Denmark, Norway and Sweden if you look at cities. and towns. That large parts of Sweden, Norway and Finland but not Denmark are empty forests not only makes little difference as those regions don't have many people but actually lends to the point that you need to be careful comparing country to country.

This has been brought up over and over again. For you to consider that arguement one of Nitwits, either you must be trolling, lying to push a pro plague agenda or you have some sort of intellectual ability. Either way, if this was my forum, I'd boot you.

SARS and MERS didn't "run their course". They had a quicker onset of serious symptoms so it was far easier to isolate patients to prevent spread. That containment also gave less of an opportunity for mutations to develop that are more adept at circumventing the immune system or vaccines.

West Nile is now endemic (meaning it's spread so widely that we likely can't eliminate it). It's not super sexy for the Canadian press to report on but people are still getting infected and still dying.
Covid will become endemic, if it’s not already
