I saw one commentator who said that the airlines are simply re-routing their their customers flights to eliminate direct flights but keep the business. If this is true the wording should be that anyone either using an India Passport is banned as is anyone carrying a passport containing an India border entry stamp.

If we are going to ban all flights, Air Canada gonna need another bail-out and we are paying for it.
I think we should ban Turdeau. I am so tired of hearing the same damn thing...got Canadians backs...more vaccines per capita.... we used the federal credit cards so canadians didn’t have to... it is the same damn answer no matter the question. Even the half ass measures he put into place are just talking points because there are so many loopholes. so many people refused to go to the hotels after landing and nothing happened. The liberals let us down huge by being stupid telling us masks don’t help, thinking giving people info flyers at the airport will keep us safe. I am so mad as I sit here waiting for my vaccine. I hope Turdeau ROTS. But he will win again because we are a country of idiots that cannot see that they are being bought with their own money.
I think this will go on forever wave after wave and never ending variants and probably the need for booster shots or completely new ones each year
Exactly. I understand the health protocols but we’re basically winning battles and losing the war.
The government has stopped the loop hole. People cannot jump flights from India. We need to get our own shit under control before contemplating opening any doors to areas currently out of control (more than us) and spreading yet another dangerous variant.
I hate but understand the lock down if the road to normalcy is around the corner. Letting more sickies in is like bailing water out of a boat while someone is pumping more water in at the far end. It becomes a never ending cycle.

A little too late, for these travel restrictions. The UK variant is already here tearing us up. China had the strictest travel restrictions from the start, they have no variants.
I agree with you but suggest they should at least learn something from it. The UK is here through inaction but why simply give up and let an even more dangerous variant in from India ? The third wave was driven by the UK variant, let's not leave the door open for a forth. I'll go nuts if this reaches the fall as it is.
I don't know why they haven't learned, history has shown that diseases spread through travel, the Europeans wiped out the Aztecs by bringing small pox to them.
Because the MFIC is too busy practicing his dance routine for his upcoming international trip to G7 to care about history. He is elected for Drama, not history so dance he will! His international trip is in 2 months, so it really is crunch time for him so I guess we have to cut the Liberals some slack. Jazz hands are developed not born. The show must go on! Even though his wife brought a case of the virus back to Canada through international travel last year, it will be different this time. He has our backs. Now where is that great reset button???

The two most important things in respect of stopping the 3rd wave and the variants would have protecting our borders (International flights) and early vaccination which were both Federal.
I’ll never understand why the flights were not banned. I’ll never understand why people accept this from our Federal Government.
Trudeau is plain stupid. He waits to see what other countries like France and England are doing and after much heat he finally act. What flights from Brazil and UAE? Ban all intranational travel and keep our country safe. As someone noted we are in pandemic.
The travel ban should only be temporary as people who are following rules still have places to go.

No one wants to do this anymore. They should have done this a long time ago. People have been making a sacrifice for over a year already. How is that selfish ?
We shouldn’t have to suffer forever cause our federal government is incompetent in establishing any proper pandemic protocol, securing vaccines and the fact that our unionized socialist healthcare sucks even long before covid came into the picture.
