@eddie kerr and @xmontrealer I've made two unsuccesful attempts to convert the Van Morrison at the Rainbow, 1973 DVD to Xvid, using autogordianknot 2.55. In both cases, the .avi file created had sound, but no picture. I haven't figured out what I'm doing wrong; I have successfully created the Xvid version with this software in the past, but with a Windows XP operating system, not Windows 10. I'll make a third attempt, and if it doesn't work, I'll try again after I get a new monitor for my XP computer.

Pretty revolutionary for 1964. That sound was more prevalent in the latter part of the decade

I gotta thank the movie Kingpin for putting me on this one. Some great tunes on that movie soundtrack, that's for sure

It may not have been his most popular song, but this was Todd's best for me

While they weren't rock n roll per se, this Isleys joint definitely rocks

come on over to the Black Music thread and post some tunes
I went through all 75 pages of this thread yesterday, and I removed three of my posts that were duplications of videos already posted in this thread by someone else. I don't have the time or inclination to scroll through 123 pages of the Black Music thread, to see what's already been posted. I'm not a fan of hip hop music.

When I was in my music formative years, there was no such thing as 'Black Music' to me. Top 40 radio, (CKGM-AM in Montreal), played all the current chart hits and music genres. 1970-74 was a very fertile time period for popular music. I don't relate as well to 1960's hits; they were aimed more at my older brother and sisters. AM radio began a rapid decline in January, 1975, when "Mandy" by Barry Manilow reached #1.

Most people who didn't live in Quebec think this is a George Harrison song. Michel Pagliaro was actually the first performer to headline a concert in Montreal's Olympic Stadium, with Nanette Workman opening. It was two short sets between games of a Montreal Expos doubleheader, Sunday May 15, 1977. Thanks to baseball-reference dot com for help with finding the date.

I still have the vinyl 45 of Some Sing, Some Dance, but I'm not the original owner. I got it for $5 at Kopps Records in 1989.
