If you have plans for this summer, cancel them now.

"Ontario’s Premier says “everything is on the table” when it comes to the possibility of another lockdown as the province navigates through a third wave of the virus.

Doug Ford would not specify what new measures his government is considering, if any, but said he will consult the province’s top doctor before making a decision while urging people to not gather for Easter.

“I am extremely concerned about the situation that we’re seeing and the numbers going up… I am concerned with the age group right now with younger people in ICU,” said Ford on Tuesday.

“Everything is on the table. Be prepared. I am saying don’t make plans for Easter. I won’t hesitate to lock things down if I have to. I did it before, I’ll do it again… without people’s health we won’t have an economy.”

Shut us down. Province needs to lower numbers.
But Dougie, also look in the mirror and ask yourself why did you allow outdoor patio's at restaurants? Why did you relax restrictions?

I heard on CFRB that 20% of Canadians are retired, some even early by choice due to a successful career. 20% of Canadians are employed by some level of Government.
That is 40% of Canadians that have been virtually unharmed economically by Covid. And we wonder where the riots are ?

That's the thing I laugh at (ok, not really laughing but a defense mechanism). He keeps telling us how careful we need to be and how bad things are while removing restrictions. Right now he's talking about cancelling spring break again because the variants are spreading while also letting restaurants and personal services open.

I think he's trying to fence sit which isn't accomplished anything other than piss off both the science and anti-science crowds. I'd almost appreciate him more if he had TJ as his chief advisor. At least then he'd be honest about not giving a shit about anything other than except getting votes.

To be realistic, I'm sure there are some employees of governments that are on hourly wages and had hours cut or were laid off.

Impact of chronic fear
Living under constant threat has serious health consequences.

Physical health. Fear weakens our immune system and can cause cardiovascular damage, gastrointestinal problems such as ulcers and irritable bowel syndrome, and decreased fertility. It can lead to accelerated ageing and even premature death.

Memory. Fear can impair formation of long-term memories and cause damage to certain parts of the brain, such as the hippocampus. This can make it even more difficult to regulate fear and can leave a person anxious most of the time. To someone in chronic fear, the world looks scary and their memories confirm that.

Brain processing and reactivity. Fear can interrupt processes in our brains that allow us to regulate emotions, read non-verbal cues and other information presented to us, reflect before acting, and act ethically. This impacts our thinking and decision-making in negative ways, leaving us susceptible to intense emotions and impulsive reactions. All of these effects can leave us unable to act appropriately.

Mental health. Other consequences of long-term fear include fatigue, clinical depression, and PSTD.

There are exactly 387 people in ICU, 249 of those 387 require ventilators
In a province of 15 million

lol this is barely a percentage point
I think its safe to assume Ford failed math in high school

You just don't get it.
Those ICU beds are also needed for cardiac, stroke, cancer, burn and accident patients aswell.
If you have a cancer patient with an already compromised immune system that makes them at a high risk of covid.

You just don't get it, do you?

CFB Downsview has been quietly setting up military hospital capability for a while now in the event that there is. run on ER beds in the GTA. Hopefully this is never needed.

Many of these covidiots types are the worst type of selfish, me first, obnoxious self important patients for a healthcare provider to treat in a hospital setting.

This a failure at all levels of government, NDP, Conservatives, and Liberals. We are so close to the end and they are fucking this up. Tired of this shit.

DoFo sometimes is a MoFo, but I would take Boss Hogg over any of the opposition at this extremely difficult point in time for us all. He is still a successful populist pandemic politician.
