More young people identify as LGBTQ+ than ever before

Sounds like the kids are learning to be more tolerant than the last generation.

One’s sexuality can be fluid along the Kinsey scale. It’s better for a young adult to figure out what they like sexually and do it in a environment of tolerance than beings ostracized. In the end as they grow up and mature they will likely settle around the middle of the scale. That’s how humans are.

Gay bashing, intolerance etc is simply not tolerated as it once was. Thankfully.

I once had a buddy in middle school, nice kid, gentle, into the arts. We parted ways by highschool when I moved away. I found out a decade later, he had been teased and bullied for “being a fag” by the jocks and bullies in his highschool. Whether or not he was isn’t important. The big part was being labeled a “fag” meant you were ostracized and the teachers looked the other way.

Short end: kid killed himself a month before graduating. He almost made it. Another month or two and he would have had his GED and been onwards to life. The 80’s were a terrible time for classic bullying. Al because he was sweet and gentle and not a jock.

If I had known, if I had been able to stay in touch, I would have gone a picked a fight with the whole school. But I didn’t, I was many towns away and I still carry that regret that “I should have known or something”

So, yeah, if kids identify as queer these days it’s a hell of a lot better than being an asshole who bullies a kid for being perceived as gay.

I think there's a very large number of men who have sex with other men.

I have read that it's called "situational sex" or something like that. (I'm too lazy to look it up.) It basically says that in the right situation a man who identifies as heterosexual will have sex with another man pretty much just for the release. Example, you're in prison for 10 years and you have no other outlet than having sex with men, so you go for it. Maybe your cell mate offers to suck your cock and you just decide to let him. A mouth is a mouth is a mouth as they say. You blow your load and then you're done. This was even a scene in the Sopranos on the whole "Vinnie is gay" arch and there was a conversation between Tony and Dr. Melfi and the topic came up and Tony just sort of shrugged and said something like, "well yeah, but they're in the can, so they get a pass". I know this one gay guy and he told me point blank that he has no problem picking up straight boys and sucking their dicks. In fact, according to him, if the situation is right, they will go for it every time.

This is part of the recent discussions in the human sexuality community concerning "men who have sex with men". MSM for short. In short, there is an entire group of men out there who identify as heterosexual, who have stable (if there is such a thing) relationships with women but will seek out sex with other men for a thrill the odd time. These men do not identify as bisexual, or homosexual, but as straight. They have no romantic interests in men, but if the mood is right, will have a sexual encounter with another man just for the hell of it. You could lump situational sex into this, but also some aspects of BDSM, cuckolding, penis fetish, shemale play, etc. etc. And having been to swingers clubs myself, I can assure you that the lesbians are great, couples are fine, but no gay no way days are long gone. Barriers to homosexual play among couples these days in swingers clubs have long gone right out the window.

I don't really understand the labels. And agree a good portion of it, especially coming from Zoomers, is just done for attention.
However, with a decline in religious doctrine and people being more sexually liberated and open to exploring. They like what they like and try different things.
It doesn't matter what happens behind closed doors between consenting adults, but imo it's taken too far when people mold their whole identify around it.

Here is an interesting clip with regards to porn:

It's possible that with all of the chemicals in the water and food that homosexuality is increasing. In 60 years gay people could be the majority of the population in the First World.

Watch your ass out there.

I wonder if the much higher percentage of children being raised in single parent families, and the increase in the average age of women when giving birth, have anything to do with this?

That may be a good thing, an Indian comic said his country could use some homosexuality. I heard that the Edmonton football team will be called the Edmonton Eclairs.

i am just wondering if any other animals on Earth have such high proportion? Any types of primates? Or is it just humans? Anyone knows of any studies? If it is just humans, when did the mutation happened? It cannot be the result of natural selection.
Hi fall.
Lots of gay animals out there. (We think) for many social animals it is a bonding experience, or a social hierarchy thing. for others, (surprise) it just feels good.

there doesn't seem to be a gay gene. if there are genetics involved, it is complicated relationship. But that’s not surprising. even eye colour has a handful of genes involved. And since we know sexual amity is a spectrum, as is gender identity (2 different things) we would expect a lot of different genes to be involved.

the fitness/survival advantage for homosexuality has some neat hypothesis.check out ”the gay uncle” hypothesis. Basically, a gene pool with a small prevalence of non reproducing adults, who can donate their energy/time to group fitness will have higher rates of survival and reproductive success compared to a similar gene pool of all heterosexuals.

think of grandparents: out of the gene pool, but having a healthy and involved grandmother in a child's formative years is highly correlated to success in life.

If a male dog who befriends another male dog is gay then
nearly all dogs must be gay. All dogs I encountered loved playing
with other dogs.

One attitude that differentiate dogs from human I believe is
dogs are most likely non-homophobic. I don't think a bitch
would be offended when she was humped by another bitch
if that ever happened.

I remember living in Winnipeg in the late 1980s and there was a gay bar called Gio's (think it's still there) whose patrons would sometimes be targeted for bullying/beatings.

One night, probably about 1988/89, a patron of Gio's was followed into an alley by two shitheads who thought they were going to "gay bash" him. Big mistake. The guy was a boxer and he beat the living shit out of both of these idiots who tried to jump him. What I remember most about this incident is that these two guys were both beaten so severely (I believe one of them ended up in a coma) that police launched an inquiry to see if this went beyond self-defence. I honestly don't recall what the outcome was.

Either way, you can bet that once these two guys were well enough to no longer require a straw to eat their meals they never went back to Gio's looking to cause trouble.

No man, like fucking. Not friends. bonobos, dolphins, albatross, fruit flies, non-straight sexual behaviour is hella common out there. to be fair, 100% exclusionary same sex pairings are rare, but it seems for many species, if it feels good, do it.

I’m part of the millennial gen (born in the mid 80s). Growing up everyone in school seemed to pick on gays etc bully other boys call them fags etc.

gen Z seems quite a bit different from what I’ve seen.

I personally am disgusted at the thought of me having sex with another man.

I have news for you though, when I went to HS it was nerds, losers and other weaklings who got bullied and picked on.
Almost no gays that I was aware of. Probably because they were all in the closet.

So if we're gonna get rid of bullying we have to do it across the board for everyone, and not have a special category just for LGBQT people
