Never ask a lady how old she is really. You can read my SP age on my site. That's all. Old enough to remember the Caeusescu era and my grandma told lots of stories about disappeared people, just because they said something wrong against the dictator or just because they were Hungarians or for no reason. Unfortunately the same is starting in Canada. Everything is checked. Facebook, Twitter....etc. I have a fuck....ing bet, the big brother read our words here always. We are on the way to a Chinese style government . They just take small things from you first unlawfully, but when you don't do anything against it, they will take more and more. It will become worster every week. Today maybe other people but tomorrow it will be you. Maybe you don't believe me, but the History repeat itself always. Dark ages are coming and you cherish for them. It's a shame.
Or, I am with you girl. I do remember the empty shelves in Soviet Union, the feel of freedom of 1990s, the sell-off of that freedom in 2000s, and the dictatorship of 2010s and 2020s. God bless America! I hope Biden will not give up to the left wingers and it will be back to its normal harmonic motion around the center with rotation between two parties every 8 years. I am just surprised that anyone under 40 y.o. can really remember empty shelves in Soviet side of the Europe...

Facts, reality and common sense eludes you. You live in a world of bullshit and nonsense, therefore you deserve to be responded to in one fashion as originally posted by Fun For All.

Wow, you're calling me illogical? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Dude, go over your posting history with a therapist by your side and ask him/her who needs a little reality and common sense check and possibly some therapy.

It's not only logic that eludes you, it's sanity, to be honest.

Poll finds overwhelming support for new travel restrictions
The vast majority of Canadians support tighter restrictions on international travel imposed by the federal government, a new poll suggests.
Eighty-six per cent of respondents agree with stricter measures that suspend flights to most sun destinations and require quarantining at a hotel at the passenger's expense upon arrival in Canada, according to an online survey by Léger and the Association for Canadian Studies.

The poll also found that 87 per cent of respondents think the government should go further by banning international travel until there are several consecutive days of reduced COVID-19 numbers.

The wariness of foreign trips stems in part from more transmissible — and possibly more lethal — variants of the virus emerging abroad as well as homegrown politicians jetting off to far-flung beaches during the holidays, says Léger executive vice-president Christian Bourque.

“We probably would not have gotten such high numbers before the whole talk about the South African variant, the Brazil variant," Bourque said in an interview. "I think this probably jolted Canadians in a way.

"And then when you see people coming back with a very nice tan, you’re thinking, 'Why am I making the effort and you're not?' And in certain cases it was MLAs and even (provincial) cabinet ministers," senators and MPs, he noted.

Ah the poor people are angry at those who have $$$

Really this is pretty much what entire covid response has been

Those of us who are employed run our own businesses want lockdowns to end (aka the right wing)
Those of you who are underemployed and were giddy to collect cerb welfare want to stay home under lockdown (aka the left wing)

I traveled (twice) since pandemic started and look ma no covid

Trudeau defends 'medically based isolations'
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was asked Tuesday how he responded to the complaints from the two travellers.

"I think it's extremely important to make a clear distinction that these aren't detentions; these are medically based isolations," Trudeau said.

"We are not detaining people. These are public health measures that are necessary to ensure that we are keeping Canadians safe, particularly given the arrival … of new variants in Canada, and extensively around the world."

Beaulieu was eventually allowed to go home after spending three nights in the hotel. He tested negative for COVID-19 on Jan. 27 and was released the following night.

Vanegas was allowed to leave on Jan. 30, after the full 14-day quarantine. He says he's healthy and back home in Edmonton. He said he has contacted a lawyer to discuss a possible claim or lawsuit.

Trudeau said three days is the average length of time for the federally approved polymerase chain reaction (PCR) COVID-19 test to be returned, which is why it's the expected amount of time a traveller might have to spend in isolation at an approved airport hotel.

But if a PCR test came back negative more quickly, they'd be free to go if they could self-isolate for the rest of the mandatory 14 days as required at home, Trudeau said.

CANADA ANNOUNCES 3 TESTS AND NEW HOTEL QUARANTINE RULES
New restrictions for incoming travelers to Canada including a new hotel quarantine and three Covid-19 tests will begin on February 22 announced Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Friday.
“We’re not trying to punish people, we’re trying to keep people safe,” he said.
Here is everything travelers need to know about the rules that were announced on Friday and what to expect when arriving in Canada by both land and air.

What is The New Land Border Testing Requirement?
Up until February 21, all travelers will be required to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR result taken in the United States within 72 hours of pre-arrival, or a positive test taken 14 to 90 days prior to arrival.
*As of February 22, travelers entering Canada at the land border will be required to take a COVID-19 PCR test on arrival as well as toward the end of their 14-day quarantine.
This does not apply to truck drivers or health care workers.

When Does The New Land Border Crossing Requirement Begin?
The new test requirement for crossing the U.S. / Canada land border will begin on February 15, 2021.
The additional testing requirement at the land border begin on February 22.

What Are The New Entry Requirements By Air For International Arrivals?
  1. All travelers must provide proof of a negative PCR test no older than 72 hours of arrival in Canada.
  2. Travelers can only arrive at the Toronto, Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver airports.
  3. All travelers will be given a PCR test upon arrival at the airport.
  4. All travelers must reserve, prior to arriving in Canada, a 3-night stay in a government-authorized hotel. Travelers will be able to book their government-authorized stay starting February 18, 2021.
  5. Travelers will be released on day 3 if there test is negative. If positive, they will be transferred to a government quarantine facility
  6. Travelers who are negative can proceed home to quarantine for the remaining duration of a 14 day quarantine.
  7. Travelers will be required to take another PCR test towards the end of the quarantine.
When Do The New Air Travel Restrictions Begin?
The new rules that affect all international travelers arriving in Canada by air go into effect on February 22, 2021.

How Much Does The Hotel Quarantine Cost?
The cost of the hotel quarantine will be the responsibility of the traveler and will cost up to $2000. Final prices will be released on February 18th, 2021 when bookings for hotels become available.

Where Are The Hotels Located?
All hotels will be located within the vicinity of the four approved airports.
Health Minister Patty Hajdu stated that “It is up to the traveler to choose where they wish to stay, and book in advance of departure.”
Hajdu reported that the cost of hotels will vary by location.
“The price will include costs associated with the room, food, cleaning, infection prevention and control measures, and security as well as transportation.”

Its pretty funny actually

Old snowbirds (who are supposedly most likely to catch covid and die) travel fearlessly while a few left wing nutjobs hunker down in fear

If old people travel exactly who are we trying to protect again?
Over 70% of snowbirds stayed home this year and they have zero sympathy for those who did not.

It is basic common sense, so no surprise you don`t get it.

People who follow the rules don`t have sympathy for people who break the rules.
In fact, the opposite is true.
They want to see them punished.

People who are staying home and not visiting family and friends don`t have any sympathy for those who are caught doing so.

People who wear masks don`t have any sympathy for those who get tickets for not wearing a mask.

People who stay home and quarantine for 14 days don`t have any sympathy for those who are caught violating their quarantine.

People who are going without their nonessential vacations don`t have any sympathy for those who return with a nice tan and get sent to a hotel for quarantine. Etc.........

I am a snowbird. Every year except this year. Stayed home at the request of the government and it would seem that wisdom does dictate. You go south, against the advice of the government, and good sense, then the issue is with the traveller. And so should be the cost. TFB

Us too, first time in 21years. No sympathy for those who flaunt the rules and then expect government to help them. Assumed privilege is at a cost!

Michael MacKenzie, executive director with the Canadian Snowbird Association, says despite the focus of recent media reports, about 75 per cent of their 115,000 members are staying put this year.

I quoted entire post since you never once mentioned a source lol

You wrote up some random quote and attribute it to Snowbird Association
Here is their actual link (where your quote is not to be found, and to the contrary, we have *3* anti-lockdown public notices including the latest one against the covid hotel initiatives)
