Many wealthy and powerful people are skipping the line, and using their money and influence to get the vaccine? Do you think it should be allowed, or is unethical?

I don't think it is ethical.I wouldn't feel right getting it ahead of someone who deals with covid like front line health care etc
However my buddy in Florida is 55 yrs old and answered an ad in the paper to get the Pfizer vaccine, he was worried at first it might be a scam but once the doctor showed him the vial and paperwork that had the Pfizer info and logo on it he said he felt better about paying $70.00 U.S. per shot. He received his second shot at the end of January.
Basically he said that if its available he might as well get it and be done instead of waiting and that for $140.00 over 21 days is not that hard for an average person to afford.

I may be naive, but now, after the research phase is over, the only problem is the production capacity. And production capacity is mostly money: if one would be willing to spend lots of money to build a new production facility (and all required downstream technological chain) - one can do so very fast. Hell, China can do it in under a month. So, basically, the problem is money since such large production capacity will not be needed in the future and, thus, will lead to a loss. The solution: charge people who want to get vaccine ahead of others a lot (IMHO, many would be willing to pay $50,000 to get it now and many others, including myself, $5,000 to get it by Summer), use the money to build the production facility, and you will be able to vaccinate more people faster.

NHL players get the vaccine and don't wait in line for it. Money and connections certainly help. Why is someone who plays with a puck more important than you?

Why not?

Besides the obvious fact a multi millionaire is way more important to the community in general its like anything else if someone wants to buy something then let them

I'm sure many of them are ready to pay to NOT get it.
You do realize majority of common sense thinking individuals can't wait for it right?

One more thing you should realize if common sense takes over. Canada will not make it mandatory but some countries if not most will make it mandatory for travelers. In other words you will need the vaccine when it's wide spread if you ever want to travel abroad but hey, nevermind, fight the system, do not take it. LOL

First I heard of the NHL getting to the front of line.
If they have the shot already, why are so many players getting it or going on the Covid-19 protocol list?

I would pay if it was open to pay. Not going to deny that but I agree with the way it is being rolled out. I think focusing on frontline workers, elderly and essential workers first is right.

I don’t like it because of my placement. But I would not want to take a vaccine away from someone more vulnerable simply because I could afford it and they couldn’t.

So as stated - unethical yes.
