Philip Seymour Hoffman was incredible in that role. Great movie. Def up there for me.The last good Canadian movie I saw was Owning Mahowny.
(2003)
You can watch Celine Lomez in Gina on Apple TV. Very hot.The silent partner
With Elliot Gould and Christopher Plummer
Love Céline Lomez
City tv when it was a real tv station used to play it every xmas
The pure Canadian films of the 70s and 80s were much better than more recent movies.Interesting how many American and pseudo-Canadian films people name (eg Canadian Bacon which is a pure US film)
Problem is I suppose what exactly IS a Canadian movie?
You want culture, you want Canadian actors, filmed in Canada, or you want something else?
Statistically the biggest Canadian Film of all time is easy
Deadpool
Ryan Reynolds is Canadian and films are shot in Vancouver
Even IMDB will list it as a Canadian / US picture (most are US / Canada if you check, not this one since majority of cast and crew vastly outnumber US counterparts)
Other films that grossed lots of $$$
Big Fat Greek Wedding
It (& It 2)
Pacifier
etc
Fuck I see Saw series makes Top20 as well
Honestly if you want an ACTUAL pure Canadian film you really are stuck with French movies
Or the odd documentary
I am legit hard pressed to think of a pure Canadian filmThe pure Canadian films of the 70s and 80s were much better than more recent movies.
Of course you can't think of them if you've never seen them. I've seen them so I can.I am legit hard pressed to think of a pure Canadian film
The Wiki list someone else posted above is useless to me as I never heard of so many films on that list
This thread has tons of ones where its kinda half Can half US
Except in Quebec. The rest of Canada has 'americanized' a lot the movie scene. But due to our language in Quebec we still have our own fully canadian production. That is why we still make some great movie here. The pure Canadian films of the 70s and 80s were much better than more recent movies.
