I feel for this guy, his wife, his kid and everyone who has watched it thinking that could have been me.
I'm trying to find a reason to call this racist, and I can't, not yet.
If it there had been a description of a suspect who was White, Asian, Indian or other ethnicity and male and this cop did what he did, I'd have a lot less trouble.
But the cop went after a black closely matching this guy, or even broadly matching him.
The cop was also wrong to arrest without any more investigating. He should be disciplined for that. For doing this in front of the kid without being certain, is also disgraceful.
All of that and more, but it's not racist.
I was detained in the Eaton center when I was 17/18 there was a robbery in the mall white male my size wearing a ball cap well ,I fit that description I was just minding my business having a smoke and next you know I'm on the ground with a cop on top of me then cuffed 5 mins later it was sorted out by witnesses that it was NOT me guess what I didn't run to the media I bitched that they broke my cigarettes ( most of a pack)one of the cops tossed me his pack
OH so its ok for a white person to be wrongfully detained but NOT a black person...
please provide hard data that proves the average black person is stopped I bet its mostly wannabe gangster's, those known to police and those doing sketchy things in sketchy areas/time of day/night

last i checked we are in Canada plus 20% more then whites is NOT every single black person multiple times...
if blacks are committing crimes at a higher rate then others which by my observation in the system they are then of course they would be arrested more no big surprise
if the suspect was black why would they arrest a white guy?
I bet there are more Catholics at church on Sundays then atheist's too

You have no evidence to prove that black people commit more crimes at a higher rate than others though.
Didn't say that. But it definitely doesn't happen as often to white people, as often as it does to blacks or First Nations in this country.
well the used to keep stats like that then it was racist so your right there are no stats to show blacks commit more crimes but the mere fact that blacks are convicted and jailed shows they do

Dehumanizing? Not just police but the entire bureaucracy and everything to do with Covid. Robotic customer service systems are just about the worst...
