Genuine question, I'm curious as to what people use cash for because I was thinking if I needed to come up with a reason why I'm withdrawing/carrying cash. Not as a justification but in conversation if it ever came up, for example runnning into someone at the atm, bank statements, etc. I'm sure some of you have joint bank accounts and/or need to cover up.
What other possible uses of cash today?

As for joint accounts, open a separate account you dummy!
As for your question; cash is a good backup in case your bank card is declined, if there's a bank run because an asteroid smashes our grid, or war that shuts down the grid; or to pay contractors, or to buy stuff on kijiji, or to pay a tow truck driver if you're stuck in snow, buy drugs on black market, or legal weed store you don't want paper trail, etc....

You should probably take up a legit hobby to cover your hobbying if your worried about someone wondering where your money is going. Most spouses won't care about your legit hobby, once you've established it. Initially they will likely show interest, because they care about you, but after a while, they'll just be happy that you're leaving them the fuck alone while they watch Greys. A legit hobby gives your reasons to go out during pandemic (to the shop etc) and reasons why you're spending some cash (obviously buy shit for your hobby too and be somewhat active in it)

- Providers of course
- Avoid taxes
- Emergencies
- Buying used stuff on marketplace
- Secret investments
- It can be used as toilet paper during Covid lockdown because the population think it’s more important than food and emptied the nearest Costco.
