Why havent the cases dropped since bowing down to your experts????
Because stupid people keep on doing stupid things. And between the various holidays (funny how this spike lines right up with Thanksgiving and Diwali....), cold dry weather(which spreads it better) and more people inside without proper air circulation, well there you go.

The ones who are payinh attention are the ones actually keeping the case load down. Look at the USA (and their Thankgiving spike hasnthit fully yet) for how it could be worse.

Just like YOU do realize we were at single digit cases in July before the mask by law went into effect, right?

Why have the numbers quadrupled since the face diaper was made mandatory, social distancing, sanitizing and NO holiday dinners???
Not only did holiday dinners happen. But they happened in indoor settings where no air circulation increases viral load. Add on no one outside now.

The mask mandate caused the increase in Ontario? You have lost it, smallhatchet.

By the way, there was no mask mandate in the US at that time. Why are they setting all time highs in new cases, hospitalizations and deaths ON A DAILY BASIS.

Ontario is doing much better than the US. It must be the masks.

He is. You can be a fiscal and war rightwinger and still believe its a good idea to wear a mask in a pandemic.

I never said Biden doesn't believe in this science.
It was just that OP, smallhatchet, referred to Biden as a leftwing libtard or something like that. It appears that he edited his post and removed that reference.

It was interesting how two trumpers view Biden differently.

In reality, mask mandates started in April with public transit in Toronto and Ottawa asking people to wear masks and grocery stores started requiring them in May. Regular mask use became common for most people around that time. "Coincidentally" the start of mask requirements happened right around the same time that daily cases started falling.

And no, the daily cases at the end of June were in the 150 range and during the month following the official government mandate daily new cases dropped by 50%.

Its because I'm not a "trumper". I'm against the Neo Liberal concensus of pro war, Pro wall St, and fuck the working class. Biden embodies it.

But on this he isn't stupid.

Because stupid people keep on doing stupid things.
Explain how Covid gained sentience?
For some strange reason it never seems to infect anti-maskers it only seems to infect people who believe in Covid
Pretty suspicious if you ask me

I have been to rallies
Seen the same cast of characters jumping in every chance they get
Not once has any of them ever missed a rally and not once has there ever been a community outbreak traced to one

Yup
Because only ethnic families living in Peel seem to get infected
But lets lock down Toronto while we are at because. You know. Say it with me. Science.

I know people who live in Mississauga (lock down) who drive to work every day in places such as York and Halton (no lock down)
A piecemeal lockdown is pointless and random

Great message to Americans..................

Coming to a country near you! ;)
So, does it mean "100 days and take it off" or "100 days and then maybe another year"?

In the states the wards are disproportionately trumpers and they also accuse hospital staff of lying to them when they say they have covid.
Study after study show lower transmission rates w masks. Kansas compared county by county mask mandate vs no mask mandate evidence is clear those without mandate much higher infection rate.

ROFLMFAO!! We've been wearing masks indoors in the GTA for a lot longer than a measly100 days and what did we get in return? Maybe a decade is the answer.

There is a name for those like you who don’t wear masks, causing the numbers to spike. COVIDIOT.
How do you respond intelligently to an argument like this?

Grouping idiots with scientists and medical professionals may feel validating, but it's not helping get better information into the thread.

The science does not say until everyone wears a mask for 100 days people will die.

There are known forms of high transmission associated with negative health outcomes, and known forms of low or no transmission without any harmful or beneficial health outcomes, medically vulnerable elderly people and healthy children fit those categories.

By shaming, asking or even forcing everyone to mask up for 100 days without distinguishing does not target the problem transmissions, nor does it help to ensure people will comply.

On the other hand, simply saying Trump likes hydroxy chloroquin you better stay away, is pretty dangerous when a huge number of empirical studies show how enormously beneficial it can be.

I'll sit back to see how long it takes for someone to respond by calling me stupid and show no science or argument.

If we weren't wearing masks the COVID infections would be even higher...the difference in the next 100 days as compared to what most of 2020 has been is we have a vaccine coming near the end of the 100 days.

This is turning into the climate-type debate- what ifs and lots of future predictions that may or may not come to pass. Boring.

Sure. Climate change is a real thing. I learned that in gr.3 when they told us about the ice ages. Thanks for a reminder. As for masks. The N95 is designed to stop 95% of anything down to 3 microns. Covid is about 1 micron. Few have one of those. We have ZERO data and NO STANDARDS of any kind for the available face coverings in Ontario. Use it because it makes everybody feel good. Just don't come in contact with anyone with Covid. Feel better?

100 days, sure...vaccine on the way...hopefully we are at the beginning of the end.
I would say ...hopefully at the end of the beginning.
There's still a long way to go.
I'll continue wearing a mask when not at home, for the foreseeable future.

That's fine and thanks but you weren't one of the people I referred to earlier as a source of information that I rely on.

It's about being a good citizen...I'll wear a mask for the same reason I stand for the national anthem, don't feel like getting in hostile disputes for silly things.

I don't care about your sources. I can do enough math to figure out that 3 is greater than 1 all by myself. I wear s mask, everyone around me wears one, too. The areas under restrictions keep increasing....
