The older I get the more I appreciate Piper's unhinged character........lol.
Montreal's Ivan Koloff was one of the best workers ever. While with Jim Crockett Promotions (future WCW) he created a very lucrative feud. Scott Simpson (Nikita Koloff) wouldn't work for McMahon due to being a devout Christian. So Vince took the other Russian, Crusher Khrushchev and created Demolition (Axe and Smash).
Scott Simpson (The Russian Nightmare) would have been better off in the WWE. He had to work a feud with Lex Luger. Luger was just as egomaniacal as Hulk Hogan, he wouldn't job to him. Simpson's career went downhill after that. Today he is an ordained minister.
I saw Nikita Koloff vs Lex Luger the night Simpson got squashed by Luger. I considered it the beginning of the end of WCW, even though it was eight years away. Had he moved to the WWE, the Wrestlemania IX would today not be considered the worst main event. Imagine how legendary a match Between Koloff and Taker would have been instead of Giant Gonzalez.
Luger was a decent wrestler until he roided out, then he worked stiff. These days Scott Simpson is a preacher while Lex Luger is wheelchair bound. He worked with Flair also Wooooooo.
