I'm with you on that. In my opinion, he doesn't speak for other businesses. It's one thing if he called on the Government to prove restaurants are the cause of a spike in Covid-19 cases, but his stunt was nothing more than a venue to provide his anti-mask/vaxxers to get some publicity.
I don't think all small businesses and restaurants should be shut down. Limiting capacity, ensuring people wear masks and practice social distancing should work. I can't see how hundreds of people in a Walmart or Costco is somehow safer than 3 people in a small store if everyone is wearing masks. But, I'm not a doctor nor a scientist. So what do I know.

Like I said, he's all about the $$$. I don't think he cares about anything else. I don't know him personally, but I have dealth with him before (not about his restaurant) I wouldn't say his a full on douche but he's not one who will let a small mistake slide...
the concern I have the small businesses closing during lockdown is this...
Small retail businesses like clothing stores, restaurants, invested in safety measures during the COVID hibernate (summer), most follow protocols (masks, shields) those investments put dent in their income compared to the big box stores.
Costco, Loblaws and Walmart are still able to sell, appliances, clothes and shoes and also serve food for take out.

If you go to these big box stores...look around if that guarantee you're safe from COVID...I don't think so...this whole lockdown is a half assed COVID prevention scheme that will not work.

Several news reporters who were on the scene claimed he wouldn't talk to them. And that several of the protesters started screaming at them, calling then fake news, making derogatory comments towards the female reporters etc.
I still say he's going about this the wrong way. I doubt other businesses want anything to do with him and his anti-vaxxer/anti-mask supporters. He's doing more harm than good.
