Peel Regional Police have arrested a man for allegedly administering a noxious substance while at a Mississauga restaurant.

On Oct. 22 at about 6 p.m., cops say a female and a man were dining at a restaurant in the City Centre and Square One Drs. area.

When the female — whose age was not released — left the table to go to the washroom, cops allege the man was seen by a waitress putting a substance in the female’s drink.


The waitresses alerted the female and cops say the man then fled the restaurant in a 2016 Porsche, which had a personalized licence plate.

Tariq Nawaz, 51, of Mississauga, has been charged with administering a noxious substance and breach of recognizance.

Police believe that there could be more alleged victims.

Anyone who may have more information on this case is asked to call police at 905-453-2121, ext. 1133 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

The waitress that not only witnessed the act ,but took action should receive recognition for stopping such a hedious crime.
