Her argument makes sense.

The Lincoln project probably moved some soft republican votes into the anti-trump column and was very useful in terms of trolling Trump. It also got a lot of free media because it appealed to the MSM's dedicated "only Republicans are serious" mindset.

But they aren't really allies, they were just useful for coordinating fire on Trump and giving Repubs permission to bail on him.

They aren't the future for the Dems and while AOC is probably a little too convinced that "digital is the answer" the fact is that a more bottom up approach does seem the best way to deal with the very difficult problem of managing a broad coalition.

It’s not that AOC is “wrong” in what she’s saying. The issue, though, is that her comments arose within the context of Dems questioning why they did not do better in the House races.

Moderate Dems have been expressing frustration with messaging from the Far Left about “Socialism” and “Defund the Police” as these ideas are not popular in middle America. However, rather than acknowledging this difficulty, AOC reacts by telling her fellow Dems that these ideas really are popular across America, that she knows their districts better than they do, and that if they are struggling for re-election it is their own fault for running shitty campaigns.

Meanwhile, AOC sits in a reliably Blue district where she does not have to face these issues. If I was Nancy Pelosi, I would have a private chat with AOC and let her know that if she wants to participate in any committees she better get with the fucking program or else she can spend the next 2 years sitting on the sidelines and running her mouth on Twitter.

The Lincoln Project were former GOP grifters locked out of power. Now they will try to take credit for a few memes and tweets turning the tide. If the think the Dems will allow them to take credit they are sadly mistaken.

And I doubt the GOP will trust them again. Game over for them. Hopefully the news networks now dump them too. Then the donor money will dry up.

As the #1 fundraiser in Congress(yes she beat Pelosi at the Midterms) she has a lot more clout than you realize. And her online presense gives her power. A few more wins and she will continue to grow and garner power.

Nancy won't shut her out. It will only make AOC more vocal.

The Lincoln Project were never pro Dem or anti GOP. they were anti Trump and there hope was to defeat \trump not to help Dems but in their mind to reclaim the GOP away from Trump. Why would they help support progressive causes which they oppose.

Power = Votes

AOC has a huge social media presence...but only 3 other members of the Squad; and the Dems lost seats in the House this cycle. At some point, AOC is going to turn herself into more of a liability for the Dems than an asset. If AOC wants to behave this way then she should follow Bernie’s example and run as “an Independent who caucuses with the Democrats.”

Four. Her next door district just elected another one. And more are up and coming. Some State seats also added more. They will eventually run federally.

Nancy only has 12 seats to work with now. With absentees and right wing Dems she will need every vote.

They have run shitty messaging (some of the Leftist candidates have shitty messaging as well.)

Nancy has immense respect for AOC from all appearances.
AOC has been very good at building coalitions, being a team player, and not circling fire.
Even here she is offering a path forward after being targeted by moderates who are totally willing to do the circular firiing squad bullshit.
I am sure Pelosi is going to sit both sides down and tell them to rein it the fuck in, they don't have a lot of wiggle room, but she isn't going to put all the blame on AOC.

Wilkinson here has a good take. (Read the thread)
