Will sports leagues recover?

Since sports leagues have went fill sjw ratings have collapsed. Players are too stupid to realize how economics works, if people aren't watching, ad revenues plummet ad well as broadcasting rights to broadcast games. I consider myself a sports nut but was basically uninterested this year. Add in the pandemic and empty stadiums, will people return?

I believe European soccer ⚽ leagues recognized this and distanced themselves from blm fairly quickly. Will fans return to North American sports?

I think so. We're likely going to have a vaccine(s) by December or January and things will slowly move in a positive direction from
there. Just an educated guess, but I expect fans in stadiums/arenas to some degree by summer or fall of 2021, when most people wil
have had their first vaccination.

Sports just don't seem as important during this whole thing, and watching them without fans feels like a glorified practice. Get the fans
back and things will eventually phase into normalacy again.

I wonder the long term consequences of supporting thugs, people were mostly at home without much to do and they still never watched. Even the NFL is down.

So basically you are speculating that ratings are down because of lefties.

How do you explain 17 million viewers per game with a Canadian team in it an 5 million or so with the league's marquee team involved?

What else could it be, I don't buy the no fans in the stands argument, time will tell i guess.

The fans will return. I miss going to Jays, Leafs, Raptors and TFC games. Also most people forget the economy that sports leagues bring, the people who work at the arenas and stadiums, ticketmaster, stubhub, seatgeek, scalpers, the merchandise sales, the travel, hotels, restaurants and bars.

Majority or sports leagues will survive but the lame duck franchises are as good as dead
Looking right at the Coyotes and Panthers who have been lame ducks for decades

The other dead zone is NY/NJ and Cali which have way too many teams in that area so 1 or 2 could fall
The fact they all suck attendance wise doesn't help (Islanders 30th, Devils 27th, Ducks 25th, Sharks 24th, Kings 21st, Rangers 19th)

I mean when you have a small city with a tiny arena like the Jets outdrawing places with more population that entire Canada you know something is going to give sooner or later

But the teams won't
Blue Jays went to Buffalo this year and Raptor appear headed to Louisville

Until border opens there are no Canadian teams so 2021-22 at earliest

No, ratings have nothing to do with covid and changes to schedules and lifestyles but are down because obsessed sports fans don't want to listen to the opinions of the players they idolize.

BTW. I love how the right keeps saying people they disagree with are snowflakes but who is it who gets so easily offended when someone dares have a different viewpoint?

That's what the NBA seems to think.

Maybe you should go back and read what Silver actually said instead of relying on Fox trying to translate.

There are many unprofitable nba teams also, 14 in 2017. I wonder what the owners are thinking who had no choice but to go along with the blm bullshit. Many players in all leagues are poorly educated who just think the money will always be there. NBA wanted to walk out on the season when they canceled those games and their union rep, a well educated black lady, laid out the consequences if they did. The idiots said to her she wasn't the boss of them. NBA players in particular need to be humbled, I hope this does it.

I highly doubt that he blamed, let alone referenced any political stripe or leaning. Please provide the quote to prove me wrong.

There was only one message promoted by the NBA and that was BLM with signs on the court and on their shirts, along with the kneeling ritual. So what else could he have been talking about, when there was nothing else.

I could see the CFL folding. Depends if the league gets some serious stadium revenue in 2021.

So you have no quote showing that the NBA feels that ratings are down because of left leaning philosophies. You pulled it out of your ass.

Absolutely no way this will happen. The vaccines trial would be done if a vaccine was projected for december. We are far from there.

If Trump is out maybe. If not, viewership will not recover, leading to possible lockouts in the future.

Trump is too distracting for the general population. When your life is at risk, sports will take a back seat.

BLM is universally considered a left-leaning philosophy, a form of marxism to be exact. I believe one of their founders even said as much.
