Welp turns out the scientific community announced BACK IN JULY 6th 2020 that masks do NOT work and that the transmission of Covid is airborne (which really should not come as any kind of surprise since SARS was transmitted the EXACT SAME WAY)

So um yeah
Not even the mumble mumble science explanation has any justification for the random mask laws anymore
(as the explosion of cases + relevant shut downs of bars / restaurants has pretty much proven)

Apparently the WHO updated their guidelines but Canada is (once again) dragging their feet according to CBC

But the entire argument of "large droplets" and "masks work" has been disproven by hundreds of scientists in multiple countries now

The vast majority of health experts agree that mask use is effective in limiting infections from C-19 & the resulting ill health, long term negative health effects, hospitalizations, ICU patients, loss of work, and deaths.

If they thought masks didn't work, are useless & the virus is not at all hindered by masks, then we would be probably seeing more lockdowns around the world.

As it stands masks are mandated or recommended by the vast majority of nations on the globe.

The scientific evidence says they work and are effective against the pandemic. See the threads on the subject for more info.

I don't believe there is a single country that hasn't mandated or recommended use of masks.
Even in Humpty Dumpty land CDC has recommended the use of masks, although Dickstain Donald does undermine the use of it quite often by his own words and actions.

Trumpfart has officially pissed off Dr. Fauci who is now out in the open against the orange clown.

Have to wonder what "science" Ford is reading since he thought opening bars and restaurants would be safe lol

The opening of the restaurants was indeed safe. I eat out all the time and witnessed it myself. With the half capacity and the precautions in place, and the vast majority of the establishments followed it almost religiously, there was very little risk of transmission. Grocery stores, the TTC, schools, well, that's another story. I talked to one of the Ford's buddies at a local Etobicoke restaurant(right before the second lockdown) and he told me it was coming. Not because of the data, since they had none(!!!), but because of the political pressure- to be seen as they're doing something and from the (few) unhinged individuals in the public health racket who really, really enjoy the media's spotlight.

Even with 50% capacity the virus travels well over 15 feet esp in poorly ventilated areas

The data is certainly there some people just like to wilfully ignore it.
Toronto Public Health reported 44% of Coronavirus outbreaks during Sept 20-26th were related to restaurants/bars/enteratinment venues.
Toronto Public Health also reported 34% were related to restaurants/bars/entertainment venues as of last week October 7th.

Bullshit. First of all a couple of hundred hospital cases is not an outbreak. And most importantly, they had no way of tracking where the actual infections took place- and they still don't. It's all based on a wag(wild assed guess).

Oh the intelligent, and cultured responses of JCpro "Bullshit"
Yes understanding how and what they do with contact tracing does require some form of understanding as well as critical thinking of how it can be achieved.
Also yes a couple of hundred hospital cases is does mean it's an outbreak.

Yet you think people shouldn't wear masks?
Why?
A non medical mask does nothing

Again if anyone bothers to read the sourced article which is repeated by WHO; it is NOT just the large droplets that spread the disease
As it is aerosol based the only way your mask works is if you have a filter in it (or unless your mask prevents you from breathing oxygen but that causes another issue with living and all)

Hence a non medical mask does nada

"Bullshit" is an apt response because they base it on models and not on the actual contact tracing.

"In a review9 of observational studies, an international research team estimates that surgical and comparable cloth masks are 67% effective in protecting the wearer."

XYZ said:
Masks do not work, at all.

The China virus is WAY too small to be stopped by a mask designed to stop bacteria (like stopping a gnat with a salmon fish net).

Dr. Fauci knows this, by the way.
Wrong. And irrelevant. Back to C-19 preschool with you to learn its ABC's.

"The claim: If masks cannot keep out drywall particles, they cannot keep out coronavirus, which is smaller"

"...Fact check: Masks can keep out COVID-19 particles even though smaller than dry wall dust"

The droplets that carry the viral particles are also larger in size than the virus itself,...

“Many people argue that cloth masks can’t be effective because they can’t filter out viral particles, which are extremely tiny,” she said. “Most of these particles leave the mouth and nose in much larger droplets that become smaller through evaporation as they move away from the body. Trapping droplets with the mask means not nearly as many viral particles escape. So, when all parties in a gathering are wearing well-constructed, well-fitting masks, it provides an extra layer of safety for everyone.”

The COVID-19 particle is indeed around 0.1 microns in size, but it is always bonded to something larger.

“There is never a naked virus floating in the air or released by people,” said Linsey Marr, a professor of civil and environmental engineering at Virginia Tech who specializes in airborne transmission of viruses.

“Breathing and talking generate particles around 1 micron in size, which will be collected by N95 respirator filters with very high efficiency,” said Lisa Brosseau, a retired professor of environmental and occupational health sciences who spent her career researching respiratory protection.

Wrong
The correct answer is yes
A mask does protect a person better, if everyone wears a mask the threat of the exposure to the Coronavirus is significantly lower. I can tell you again how but since it's been repeated to you numerous times and you still haven't understood how this is done I don't think you can or will understand it this time.
