Paralysis due to Pandemic

Off I go to Club Dynasty. I liked their attention to detail on their website with respect to Covid-19. I park the car and go through what I know. This Covid-19 virus is airborne and very little chance to catch it via touch.
Alrighty.... So, I will wear two masks and take up the spa's offer to have the attendant wear a mask as well. I turn off the engine. I wait for a couple of minutes. Then, I restart the car engine and leave. This pandemic is front and center in my mind. Am I too paranoid?
Thanks in advance.

Very tempting to visit. Thinking if I do and getting infected may spread virus to friends, family and workplace. Not worth it.

Trust your instincts.

I recently went for a session where we both wore masks so that limied our activities but that was my comfort level.

Each person has to decide for themselves what they are confortable and whats at stake.

If you dont feel comfortable setting foot in s spa then so be it. Nothing wrong with that.

Thanks to all that shared their thoughts. My gut says stay away. My lower brain cannot wait for this to clear.

I couldn’t help myself and have been to Club Dynasty a couple of times. They do their best to make it feel safe. My only comment is that they have limited everything such as the sauna, the pools and snacks. Price feels a little high because of that. But it feels safer than the body slide places

It would be safer if there was a spa with a larger room that could also have an open window. some sort of curtain for privacy, but still allows airflow. There has got to be such a place. If someone finds it, please post.

What if they added the Air Purification system like in most dental offices? Would that make you feel safer?

Hate to be the bearer of bad news OP but you can literally catch Covid anywhere. They are reporting outbreaks in all kinds of businesses, communities, facilities etc.

Do people really think it’s going away? The Black Plague is still endemic in certain parts of the world. Although we have medication for it today, it never just disappeared and that was thousands of years ago.

Unless you’re fine with staying home in bubble wrap until they find a vaccine, we’re pretty much all gonna get it whether we go to a MP or not. Now is a really good time for smokers to quit.

its not clear that everyone will get it. And eventually there will be a vaccine.
Why do you say that ? Most people who get it are asymptomatic anyway. Just like with the flu vaccine, people can still get the flu.

Hopefully the vaccine will be available by the new year because a lot of people aren’t taking it seriously and the more it drags on the more mental burnout it creates. The vaccine would be a great Christmas gift lol.

Been for a sesion, seems freaky or odd, but got into the room, mentioned to the attendant i will be wearing my mask and goggles to protect my eyes from touching the table, she was smiling and giggled. She asked if its ok for her to wear gloves and mask. No problem. She ask me to wear glives too, which was find by me.. :);)(y):devilish:

Yes, don't feel bad.

Though, the virus can survive one surfaces for some time (not as long as initially reported). So, touching surfaces is something to be aware of - that's why washing hands is so important.

The wearing gloves thing doesn't make any sense - as the virus can survive on that surface too. Though, it can be said that wearing gloves might remind you not to touch your face - which is exceedingly important.

If I were to go, I most certainly will be wearing my mask and would insist on the attendant wearing one too.

My lower brain can't wait either...

I just read this article that may make you feel less paralyzed. It has brought a great deal of comfort to me.

"As long as people wear masks and don’t lick one another, New York’s subway-germ panic seems irrational. In Japan, ridership has returned to normal, and outbreaks traced to its famously crowded public transit system have been so scarce that the Japanese virologist Hitoshi Oshitani concluded, in an email to The Atlantic, that “transmission on the train is not common.”

Thats the dumbest adice that ive heard.

French kissing a woman who has french kissed 10 other guys that day cant compare to typical daily activities.

That's like saying "youre going to die someday so do whatever you want"

Except you can have sessions without kissing 🙄

My point is the risk will be there whether you go to an MP or not. You think all the cases out there from people kissing or visiting a MPA lol

What is "the" risk? Agreed there is some risk in virtually anything, however each thing you do adds or subtracts risk. How much? we don't really know, but at the same time let's not pretend that close intimate contact without PPE is the same as not attending a MP at all.

Covid is endemic; it’s not going anywhere. Hopefully the vaccine can put an end to that...whenever it arrives. But before then you need to factor in that it spreads through droplet transmission. The other two: self inoculation and just recently according to the WHO by airborne transmission. Two of those methods don’t even require close contact. That means almost all of us are going to be exposed if we have have not already. Remember most cases are asymptomatic.
