Police release image of suspect in fatal stabbing in downtown Toronto

Police have released the image of a 22-year-old man wanted in connection with a fatal stabbing in downtown Toronto Thursday night that left a 30-year-old man dead.

Officers were called to Ontario and Wellesley streets just after 11:30 p.m. for reports of two people fighting.

When they arrived at the scene, they found the victim collapsed on a pathway that runs between a parkette and a nearby store.

Police said the man had multiple stab wounds to his abdomen. He was rushed to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The victim was identified as Stephon Anton Knights-Roberts, of Toronto.

On Saturday, police said Toronto resident Connor Madison is now wanted for second-degree murder.

He is described as five-foot-eight, weighs 122 lbs, and has short brown hair, and blue eyes.

Police said he is considered armed, violent, and dangerous.

That is the first white face I've seen associated with this type of crime in the last three years. He is the exception that proves the rule.

It's a demographic thing. You'll see more white faces doing these types of things in majority white areas.

This is not the first time in the last 3 times that a white guy in Toronto has committed this type of crime though.

No but it will get wall to wall coverage and white supremacy rhetoric attached to it and it will be condemned by morons like Justin Trudeau in a big show that the media will squeeze every drop they can out of.

Meanwhile the police tweet out shootings multiple times a week and nobody cares, nobody makes posts, no media covers it, no politicians jump on the bandwagon.

It’s quite strange.

Not "only black" but "higher proportion of black" so, if, for example, there are 20% of black and 80% ow white (just for simplicity, ignore other races), than to have no "racial effect in probability to be a criminal" we should see 1 black killer and 4 white killer. Even equal number of black and white killers will imply that a randomly chosen black person is more likely to be a killer tan a randomly chosen white person. The evidence is not 1:4 but 4:1. you just found this 1. Congratulations.

1. No, he didn't stab him. Left wingers are just making it up.

2. OK, he did stab him but it was the other guy's fault. His knife 'fell' into him.

3. OK, he did stab him but not the way you think.

4. He did stab him but someone else, somewhere else stabbed another one worse.

The evidence says that Toronto's murder and crime rate peaked in 1991. Though I was very young in those days, I can assure you that the city had an even whiter population which a much smaller black population back then. Drug and alcohol usage has also gone down as well.

The cities with the highest murder and crime rates are out west, Toronto does not even make the top 20. There are FEW black people out west and they cannot have much of an affect on murder or crime rates out there.

You do not understand the concept of conditional probability, do you. If there are 10 million white and 1 million black people in the city and there were 4000 white murdered and only 1000 black murderers, the probability that a randomly chosen white guy is a murdered is 4000/10000000=0.04% and the probability that a randomly chosen black guy is a murder is 1000/1000000=0.1%. I.e., a random guy is 2.5 times (0.1/0.04) more likely to be a murdered if he is black then if he is white. Hence, police will be looking more into black guys and treat them more harshly: it has nothing to do with the total number of crimes or racism: it is simple mathematics.

This logic is true but let's assume for a moment your numbers are correct - that means if you pass by 10,000 white guys in union station, 4 might be killers. 10,000 black guys, 10 might be killers. Thus the 9,990 innocents might not be happy about this. Thus the law of small numbers mitigates the size too from a practical POV. But I'm all for facts, wherever they land. That's the first step toward good decision making. And I've seen left and right put out bullshit. Enough!
