UPDATE: PS & AT are remaining closed

I am very sorry to say that PS & AT will NOT be opening on Friday. With all the confusion yesterday and with all the other massage establishments opening, we followed suit. However, we confirmed with Ottawa Health today and we are not to operate at this time. We hope to see you soon.

Yes, a R&T tends to be more intimate, but RMT's are just as hands on (just touching different places) and they are allowed to open. I suspect that the city is saying this as they see the spas as entertainment vice being therapeutic, but in my case I find CMJ quite therapeutic. LOL

I wonder why OPH is allowing tattoo parlours to open.

It's obvious that Ottawa Health Care wouldn't approve erotic rub&tug spa to open.

There is no such thing as 2 meter physical distancing and there is no such thing as offering services with mask & gloves (for the one saying the opposite... yeah okay lol).

I'm confused that anyone would be confused.

RMT are typically hands on the back and masks can be worn by both individuals.

The confusion continues lol.

In fact just to remain on this subject, Montreal spas opens officially on Monday, but some spas outside Montreal are already open since June 1st with variable success

well it makes Total sense Ottawa wants all Massage Closed cause Bodyrubs in Toronto are Closed so if Torontos are Closed (like Royal Spa and Airport Golden) and they are Open in Ottawa then the Toronto guys will cum here and Jim Watson doesn't want the 416 to get jammed with traffic

This is patently ridiculous, really. An RMT and what goes on at any place we from the board are freqenting are night and day. They other part is that its' well known that what goes on in the room is up to the discretion of the MA, not the house and this means all it takes is one girl providing full service or having a regular in where they allow kissing, fluid exchange etc and it promotes spread.

I'm not surprised by this at all and I'm sure all the spa owners have been warned. It remains to be seen who listens.

Wait a second.
Aren't there quite a few Asian massage places both in Ottawa and Hull, who are advertising as being open ?
Are by-law officers watching these places to enforce compliance, and if so, woe to the customers who get caught there, with their pants down !

Most of the AMP are open in Ottawa, 868 Merivale, Palace st, Hunt club and Merivale (Rabbit spa), Colonnade, Cannoteck. A few independents are also advertising..Julie downtown on Nepean. Judy in Orleans off 10th line. How long they stay open remains to be seen.

Tattoo parlours should probably be shut. doesn't make sense and it is really non-essential. Opening up rub and tugs is just asking for trouble.

its so super confusing......
Personal care services
Establishments providing personal care services can open with the proper health and safety protocols in place.

Examples include:
Hair services (including barber shops, hair salons, hairdressers/stylists, colour consulting services, scalp treatment services, hair weaving services, and hair replacement services)
Beauty salons, shops and parlours (including beauticians, estheticians, cosmetology shops or salons, manicure and pedicure salons)
Hair removal services
Diet centres (non-medical), diet workshops, weight control clinics, and weight-reduction centres (non-medical)
Piercing services
Day spas
Tanning salons
Tattoo studios

For clarity, a business can open to offer other permitted services even if a restricted activity is its primary service (e.g., a facial salon can open to provide other services).

I won't have issues with the places that do open however I feel it's too early. Good on PS and AT. I havent been to either places in years but once i'm comfortable going again they will be the first SPA i go to.

Why bother ? They take your temperature, everyone has to wear masks and gloves, the bar is closed, no meet and greet, no Duos, if you come from outside Ottawa you need proof of COVID testing, they are pushing contact less sessions and you pay $ 100 penalty if you cancel ?

I just noticed that. What is a contactless session? Anyone tried one?
I think it is a question best not ask in public at this time.
a - whoever posting details publicly, at this time, will easily have their terb handle figured out.
b - you don't want the spa/club to get in trouble if it is known they aren't following the phase 2 rules.

Possibly someone who experience this will pm you.
