He wasnt shot for running away, he was shot for firing the taser gun at the cop
So he was shot for firing a non-lethal item while fleeing.
May as well have been throwing rocks over his shoulder while attempting his exit.

Thanks for admitting that he was murdered.

Just to be clear, he and Floyd were not picked out of a crowd because they were black. Police were responding to 911 calls (just doing their duty). When they got there, their first reaction was "Oh shit, he's a black man".

Some people are simply paranoid, there is no organized conspiracy to kill black men. In California, they found two black men hanging from trees. Clearly, two cases of suicide but the conspiracy theorists are claiming it might be something nefarious.

The greatest risk by far of unnatural death for black people are other black people, not cops.

In this case, he was killed for a DUI. Like why bother? Just let him run and find him another night. It's not like they didn't have his ID or anything.
Someone willing to fight two cops, use their own taser on them, and is drunk driving has no business being let go for another night. The job of the police is to protect the community and arresting a man in his mental state is doing just that.

The victim already fired on taser shot at the cop. What if he fired another which paralyzed the cop.
He could then have gone for the cop's gun after that (since he had already shown he wasnt shy about taking police equipment).
This case is a tough one because perhaps it couldve been handled better by the police, but if the cop followed training protocol then he's probably gonna skate

So you are all for punishing people for things that they might do.
OK, Minority Report.
Good to know your point of view... It explains a lot.

He had already fired off one shot with the taser.
Is the cop supposed to wait for him to shoot again??

Don't rule out a scenario where he grabs the other poster's mother as hostage and points the taser at her head.

LOL anyone who thinks Brooks was shot over a DUI charge is an imbecile.

He was shot for grabbing an officer's weapon, running away and shooting it at another officer.

This was AFTER violently resisting arrest for a DUI (for which he would have been released on his own recognizance by breakfast), which culminated in a prolonged fight with two officers and punching one in the face.

Those who think the cops should have given him a hug and called an Uber: shame on them. They have clearly never lost someone to a drunk driver nor known families who have lost innocent loved ones to a drunk driver. It is excruciatingly painful because it's such a preventable tragedy.

And anyone who thinks they should have just let him run away after he SHOT A WEAPON AT A COP must be in the same drunken state as Brooks was. Nothing good comes of that, back away from the keyboard and sleep it off.

You mean shoot a non-lethal item again, while fleeing?
He could have stopped, fired off another taser shot which incapacitated the cop, and then he could have tried to take the cop's real gun as well. I think you're gonna have a tough time convincing a potential jury this wasnt a legit shooting

Here's a good one for you: How many charges do most tasers have?
According to wiki its 3: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taser

On July 27, 2009 TASER International released a new type of TASER device called the X3, which can fire three shots before reloading

So he shot a non-lethal item in the general direction of a police officer while fleeing... and in your mind, that is deserving of him being murdered.
Correct?

What you really meant to say is that according to wiki it is UP TO 3.
It very well could be 1.
So, genius... in this situation, the taser very well could have been completely spent while he was fleeing.
Yet you still justify murdering a non-threat while he is fleeing.

Correct?
What would you have done if you were the cop involved, at the point where the taser was being pointed at you within taser range, by a man who was intoxicated and had already fired it once at another cop??

I am not going to waste my time trying to make up for your obvious limited comprehension skills lol
In a wealthy neighborhood a 15 year old would have been given cupcakes and a phone call to mom. Great point!

Back to the discussion at hand..

As they say, "don't bring a stolen taser to a gunfight fight". Cop did the right thing by defending himself. No intelligent and rational jury will convict.
