Actually, it was all over social media by the time. I simply don't like people pissing all over our police force with unfounded allegations.

Looking forward to you being just as diligent when a white person makes a false allegation against the cops.

I'm a strong advocate of "enclosed" (or no) balconies. Below is a pic of an enclosed balcony. The inner-wall is glass with a glass door, the outer-wall is covered from top to bottom. This prevents chairs and people from falling off the balcony. This type of balcony can also be used to store your bike(s) outside the living unit but still protected from the elements.

So where is the social outrage

People scream murder when 25 people gather in a park or 10 people gather to play sports

People were screaming murder when hundreds of covid denyers gathered in Toronto

Yet we hear nothing but silence when thousands gather to protest a black woman falling from a balcony
Apparently being stupid while black is a thing

Here's a pic from inside the enclosed balcony. Notice how the curtains protects your privacy, if you want it.

it is the bigotry of low expectations.

My guess is that it will be ruled death by misadventure. Wouldn't be the first time someone fell over a balcony and died. Of course, it sounds much better to say the police threw her over the balcony and then create a Go Fund page.

Too many years ago, my friend and i went drinking and tried to pick up women. Came back to his apartment. We went to the balcony to cool off. If not for me he would have fell to his death.

Soooo social distancing is not enforced when blacks and friends of blacks congregate to protest?...
Was it enforced when your white anti-lockdown friends congregate to protest?

I don't see a basis for this story to be lumped in with the US but the need for activism on anti-black racism is apparent when reading threads like this one.

That one is up to $261,584 now: https://ca.gofundme.com/f/justice-for-regis
(Organized by "Renee Beals", sister of the decedent).

Plus the family has another one running simultaneously which is currently at $128,647: https://www.gofundme.com/f/cggys2-justice-for-regis
(This campaign was started by yet another person who stated she too was a sister to the decedent (can't recall her name), however that's been edited/removed now to "Justice For Regis").

Almost $400K so far. I wonder what Knia Singh's retainer is.

Well, that's where the GoFundMe at over $100,000 comes in, I guess. More $$$ than mom has ever had in her life, I'm thinking.

Why would the cops push the decedent off the balcony?.... I can't think of a reason. They may have not taken enough time to talk her down or been careless. But why would they deliberately kill her?

On a balance of probabilities, what would you think is the more likely story?
The change.org petition for Regis has 121,000 signatures and it starts with the assertion she was murdered by Toronto Police. That is how hyped up the public is to project the Minneapolis situation into Canada. It should definitely be investigated but the odds are she jumped .

That is utter nonsense
Get you head out of your ass. The U.S has a long history of systemic racism and police brutality to African Americans. If your going to try and tell me this is the same conversation in Canada, you might want to think about going back to school, and I don't mean just to take history. Do it all over again but clearly the system failed you.

Pinball Clemons (born in the U.S.) said the same thing. Way better in Canada.
I saw that also, he said something to the effect of: "In the states, If I am at the bank, they assume that I am incompetent because I am black, I have to show my competence, in Canada it's reversed, I am assumed competence, I have to show my incompetence".

Of course he did. It's not even close to what has gone on in the U.S, and what does go on in the U.S. For nottyboi to try and make some sort of comparison is asinine.
